Fox News coverage of Katrina

On Thursday night, while the other networks were showing little kids and the elderly dying from dehydration at the NO convention center, Fox News was covering it like a picnic that had been ruined by a few ants and were outraged at the lawlessness and looting that had broken out. There attitude seemed to be "screw the people dying - people are having their businesses broken into by negroes".
Today, their coverage of "America's Challenge" has been 1 "Feel good" story after another. How Bush has sent more troops and that the tide has been turned. If you watched only Fox, you would swear that this so called disaster was a lot of liberal media hype and that everything would be fine thanks to George Bush's courageous leadership. It's really unbelievable.

Fox news is famous for this. Have been for a long long time. They're just so far off to the one side they won't dare post any opposing views. It's practically a propoganda news station. Groening has been ripping on it for decades in episodes of The Simpsons :1orglaugh

O'Reilly and Hannity are both anti-feds on this one, surprisingly. O'Reilly even said you can't depend on the federal government for anything.

Suprisingly - Im gonna disagree with you this time - cause Fox is the only one thats getting their facts right down here - every other media Ive watched has screwed up information, they are literally making stuff up, and dont even know that there is a difference between the I-10 overpass at the Superdome and the overpass at the Convention Center - two totally different places - and yet even yesterday most news people still were screwing it up.
While I agree that politically Fox has its drawbacks - they are the only one that seems to be getting most of the facts straight. All of the media needs to be ashamed of themselves for the limited coverage they are showing of a few bad apples and not showing the thousands of good people that are playing hero every day (both black and white) - but guess that doesnt make good soundbites

Hannity was NOT anti-Fed! Jesus... he was trying to minimize everything. Hannity constantly cut-off reporters from the scene.

The Republicans have alot of blood on their hands. With 2006 so close, you will see alot of Congressmen and Sentors jump ship.

George Bush's evil reign is now ending. No one believes the lies any more. The senseless waste of lives and money since 2001 is now haunting Bush. Please don't tell me the thousands of local National Guard in Iraq didn't hurt the recovery.

Don't tell me we couldn't airdrop supplies days earlier. This was ethnic cleansing by apathy. Bush did evil. There isn't a single excuse that would prevent our government from sending aupplies at all costs to those people.

Bush failed. FEMA failed. The Republican "moral advantage" failed.

Bush is the worse president in the history of this country (and that is tough to top for we have had some very bad presidents).

If you voted for Bush, you contributed to this mess. You are responsible for the needless deaths of thousands and the waste of 100s of billions of dollars.

I actually listened to this one on XM when I updated some sites. I was surprised at how the went off their "good feely script".. I giggled everytime O'Reilly wanted to change the subject and these reporters on the ground trying to keep it real.

I am not a conservative and O'Reilly does annoy me from time to time (i.e. when he 'debates' people by talking over them), but the guy is actually fairly objective and fair, especially compared to Hannity.
