Opera is now free!

Cool, my favorite browser is now totally free...no ads or anything.
www.opera.com :thumbsup
I gave firefox a shot but lately it`s been giving me some stability problems and just got tired of it.

Opera kicks ass I am using it right now

websiex 09-20-2005 04:21 PM

Opera is my favorite too, it doesn't slow up the computer or crash as much as Firefox and it has those great mouse gestures, I'll never use anything else just simply because of the mouse gestures.

LiveDose 09-20-2005 04:22 PM

Cool, I have wanted to try it out...

Machete_ 09-20-2005 04:23 PM

what about the Dr Phil Plugin?

xfalmp 09-20-2005 04:28 PM

It surely doesn't have all my FF extensions... :(

Oh, and by the way, FF has a mouse gestures extensions too.

Smart of them to put up a torrent file, the FTP is timing out.

Thats one of the things that kind of annoy me in FF.
Opera was one of the first, if not the first browser,to support mouse gestures and tabbed browsing. No need for extensions.I can update my browser and not have to go hunting and reinstalling extensions all over the place.
I have to admit though that I miss some FF extensions like the SEO one (can`t remember the name right now) and the adsense and gmail ones.
It`s a trade-off for stability though...

KRL actually got me hooked on it way back..seems more stable than I.E and Firefux..Just downloaded the newest version 5 minutes ago

yes, this is great news!!

iwantchixx 09-20-2005 05:04 PM

if Opera just had more available addons I would use it exclussively.

One thing that annoys m though. you know how you can open a new tab with the middle mouse button? Well, when you are going throught he tabs and you close one it goes back to the first tab, not the next one. That's a pain when you have a few dozen galleries tabbed. Firefox just goes to the next tab.

je_rome 09-20-2005 05:55 PM

that's great to hear. I have been wanting to give Opera a try.

Babesex 09-26-2005 03:16 PM

BUMP for Opera browser. Its freakin awesome. Way better than firefox and IE people go try it out.

pornpf69 09-26-2005 03:27 PM

old news...but still good news!

NinjaSteve 09-26-2005 03:34 PM

I think Opera is okay. It is nice and fast, but some pages don't display properly. I like IE for display the best, but Firefox becuase of the options, tabbed browsing, and extensions.

KRL 09-26-2005 04:23 PM

Opera is ok, but I like the large display area on FF. I also like being able to customize FF to exactly the features I will really use. I also like Thunderbird better than Opera's mail client.

All the browsers do the same thing, its just a matter of your own individual preferrences.

The best thing is to have all 3. Its really important to check your sites in each to make sure you are cross browser compliant.
