We can only edit our posts for 60 mins .... now we can only do 1 search every 60 seconds ???

This is not right ... if my search is unsuccessful, I wanna try a different term .... but I'll sure as fuck not sit here waiting 60 seconds to search again ... I'll be bored and gone to spacedog's board by that point ... :(

Well the problem is that, if they allow searches without a time limit the server could slow down.

This site get's pretty decent traffic and looks CPU/MEMORY intensive.

The search engine must be a security hazard. By default it has limitations set for how many characters can be included in a search. My guess is it can be abused in a fashion that would hammer the databse real hard. I like the idea of the private messaging but it could suck to have them everytime you login.

thesearch thing, and i dont like the 30 seconds thing for posts... i type real fucking fast and i respond to like 10 threads in 5 minutes to get it out of the way so i can go on with my workday....

The post editing thing is to make you think twice BEFORE you post, not hours after.

I can respect that ... but sometimes a post might need updating at some future point, not necessarily because it was posted in the heat of the moment, but maybe a situation changed ???? I forget what exactly was the case ... but I wanted to revise a post the other day, and was discourraged when I couldn't ...

If somebody posts something out of anger, I am sure that somebody will be quoting them, and there will be the permanent damage to their rep anyways .... hehehe
