have you ever been hypnotized?

I dont believe hypnoses exists. If someone can bring you in another state of consciousness where you lose control over your own thoughts with a few tricks 'accidental' hypnosis of the human brain would happen regulary.. i dont see it.. or is that because im hypnotized?

anyway: does it really exist or is it just a magic gimmick only KRL can do to his dog?

I believe in suggestible states and all, but I think its a very subtle thing... This crap of acting like a chicken in front of an audience as they howl with laughter is just bullshit and you wanting to go along with it and feeling uninhibited bec. you have an excuse.

Spunky 10-11-2005 08:45 PM

I don't believe in it,I think all that is pigshit

Vitasoy 10-12-2005 03:52 AM

Hey buddy,

hypnotyzm is just something you have to be open for i guess. I don't believe in it either but if you believe in it i'm pretty sure it works.

Ps: have a meatball!

wildgirl 10-12-2005 03:31 PM

Yes and it's a fucking weird feeling. I went with some friends to see a stage hypnotist performing at Bath University, England about 10 years ago. After the usual stuff you see on TV where the hypnotist gets about 10 people on stage and makes idiots out of them, he then hypnotized the entire audience (about 400 people) into holding their left arms in the air and challenged us to lower them - we couldn't until he told us to. It feels very strange - I felt perfectly relaxed as we were hypnotized, thinking "this'll never work" and then I realised I was holding my left arm in the air. At no point did I feel like I wasn't in control - I just felt like I couldn't be bothered to lower my arm.

Strangely enough, I don't remember. I once got chatting to another stage hypnotist at a New Years Eve party and learned a few things:

1. It only works if you are willing to be hypnotised.
2. You cannot be hypnotised into doing something against your character (so no, you can't hypnotise women into sleeping with you UNLESS they were already willing to.)
3. Some people are far more susceptible than others.
4. Only about 10% of those who volunteer are susceptible enough.
5. As the hypnotist is performing his act on the volunteers on stage, members of the audience will sporadically fall into a trance (very funny when it happens to someone next to you who has a glass of beer halfway to his mouth at the time).
6. The hypnotist tries to create the altered state in the volunteers by talking quickly in a monotone but at the same time tries to distract them - the hypnotist I was chatting to did this by repeatedly alternating between telling the volunteers all the usual things you expect a hypnotist to say (you are feeling sleepy/falling into a trance/will obey only my voice etc) and counting from one to ten very quickly but missing out the number seven.

If you get the chance to see a stage hypnotist, do it - it's very entertaining and utterly hilarious if your friends are on stage making idiots of themselves :thumbsup

I became involved with hypnosis in 72 and I can say that it does work...

The misconceptions are what make people non-believers..

A subject doesn't lose the thought process, nor is the mind taken over.

It's a form of progressive relaxation where the subconscious comes more to the forefront; bypassing the filtering factors of the conscious part of the mind.

Any suggestions given are followed because the subject has no objection to following them. If they objected, they would either just not respond, or come out of the state.

The most potent part of hypnosis is the direct access to the subconscious whereby the 5 senses are more or less replaced with suggestions. Or to better state.. the suggestions can override the senses.

Subjects still have their morals and knowledge of right from wrong, so hypnosis, though a powerful tool when used clinically or therapeutically, isn't as dramatic of a scene as some may perceive it to be.

it works and it's real. while it's never been done to me, i've seen it done to tons of people and they're surely not actors or people that were hired.

pornguy 10-12-2005 08:55 PM

It works, and and on some people so well that they can have surgery. It can be used great for pain control. But in most states that is illegal.

BV 10-12-2005 08:56 PM

I've been hypnotized by a good looking pussy before.

camouflaged123 10-12-2005 08:59 PM

I dont believe in it... maybe it might work if you are looking at hot babes all day. ..;)

tinytina 10-12-2005 09:00 PM

I'll let you know in about a week.. I'm going to be hypnotized and it's getting videotaped. =| Hopefully it's true that you can't be hypnotized into doing something against your will. I've heard of that before but wasn't sure if it was true or not.

Marshal 10-12-2005 09:16 PM

i've hypnotized two separate girls spontaneously... really...

reynold 10-13-2005 12:06 AM
