Are there a bunch of hosts down atm?

And does anyone know why?

Brad Mitchell 10-21-2005 12:35 AM

There was a global Level3 problem. Everything is coming back up now.

facialfreak 10-21-2005 12:36 AM

Red isn't offline! It's just not good. LOL Verio has not been down at any point this evening, we push significant traffic through them and although they were affected we still routed all the traffic proper.

Gotcha, thanks all. As I am re-scanning the board I am seeing the answer to my question just phrased in terms I wasn't expecting...lol

Thanks all!

facialfreak 10-21-2005 12:41 AM

sorry Brad ... you are correct

I should have said inaccessable to most ...
My phone, email, and IM have been going crazy, and I have <50 clients :Oh crap

darksoul 10-21-2005 12:57 AM

Level3 decided to make their own internet
and doesn't want to share :)

Brad Mitchell 10-21-2005 12:58 AM

To say that Verio was inaccessible to most isn't even entirely accurate. Our traffic flow in/out returned to completely normal levels through our multiple Verio connections once we manually turned off our Level3 connectivity. The problem we were having here was that Level3 was still accepting our connection locally and announcing routes but once the traffic got onto their network it was going nowhere.

Anyhow - time for some rest. Best of luck to everyone as things return to normal around the net!

Cheers
