Yea.. stick to "and", "the", "but" (only with one "t"), "or", "now" and that kinda stuff. It's the "in between words" that count. |

I dont think robots.txt is very effective now days
Lame advice but get the most links to your page you can with the keyword you want to target as the anchor text |
Meta tags are where it's at nowadays.

robots.txt is very good . . . . for keeping spiders away |
I have done my own searching and my own digging. Trial by error and all that fun stuff.
It's starting to pick up and pay off. There are lots of places to start and lots of "techniques". |

Also met the Google engineers, but that was useless. They had the look of a hot blonde at a bar who knows that everyone in the place wants a piece of her. But I did pick up some useful tips, tools and access to some private SEO boards ... but the big lesson was that White-Hat SEO = Newbs (or however you spell that term these days). If you really want to make a dent in the SERPs, you've got to get ugly. |

:wetkiss believe it or not, the small convo we had at the florida show was very useful for me. i took those really basic seo tips you mentioned to me and implemented them across my network and i've noticed a nice change. :pimp |

Tip:
build your website for your visitors not for seo |

my sites have always been visitor friendly, but i have also spent alot of money just trying to get more visitors to my sites. thats why i am now concentrating on SEO since it is a better targeted visitor i am trying to attract |

I use the overture search to get an idea of how many searches were done for a particular word & then jot down the numbers for a couple of them (not the top ones). Then do a google search to see how much competition there is on the first page. If it's big guys that have been around for years until page 5, I move on to the next term. But being on the first page for a term that only gets a few hundred searches a month... :( |
This threads gone quiet :winkwink:
