Breaking News: The Peoples Republic of Scottsdale

Just passed a law tonight to allow cameras on the 101 loop to photo speeders and send them tickets. Welcome Big Brother.

WTF I thought AZ was a fairly with it state. Can we push a recall vote on the socialist freaks that passed this law? Get your speeding in now before February folks.

Glad I don't have to drive that often.

:/

Oh, btw, this is the first of it's kind supposedly in the US. If it goes well here, expect that shit to popup everywhere.

I've seen it in Germany several years ago, I guess it was only a matter of time until that euro-socialist vibe showed up here. Appropriate I guess that it happened in the Bush-ler era.

For the last 37 years I almost bought it. That has been just about completely wiped out now.

I man in a state that did that Got a ticket in the mail. He sent them a photo copie of the cash to pay for it. They arrested him for counterfiting.

A woman did something similar. She sent a photo copy of a check. They cut it out, and cashed it.

Wow, that's nuts. I was just shocked to hear that this is the first time in the US that a city is going to implement this on it's drivers without the state or feds requiring it. Scottsdale just up'd and said fuck our citizens and drivers, let's ticket their asses with cameras now in public.

Having webams watching your every move in public is fine if you live in a socialist euro country like the UK or France, but come ONNNNNN. This makes me sick.

I think you might be confusing socialism with authoritarianism

venus 10-25-2005 10:53 PM

it may be the first camera on the highway, but those cameras are all over town

They were (probably mistakenly) reporting this tonight on the news as the first in the country to go this way.

That sucks ass.

Sebastian Sands 10-25-2005 11:04 PM

those type of cameras are all over the high ways in Europe and most people know exactly where they are hidden. Some say spray your licenseplate with a lot of hairspray and the flash of the camera will actually brighten the license plate so much that all they see is a yellow/white piece in the picture shinning back at them.

potter 10-25-2005 11:07 PM

They have those in plenty of other states. It's nothing new.

^^ Exactly

I see nothing wrong with the cameras. Sure it sucks, but if it bothers you that prob means you're just trying to break the law right? Go buy a good radar detector and that stuff so they can't photograph your license plate.

Stop complaining that it's harder to break the law :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

BIGTYMER 10-25-2005 11:07 PM

So what? Just don't speed around that part of the highway.
