You need to attend job fairs, start making connections, look into internships etc. from your first year at school.

You can go to college for four years, get a degree and walk out of college with no idea where you're going or what to do. It's all about the career. Of course I'm making some assumptions here, maybe you know where you're going already.

I had one of those in school today. Comedy Central ad-sales wanted me to apply and two internet marketing companies after i talked to the execs one on one. I kind of laughed at the thought of internships and low level job offers after i told them what I do. I did, however, give them a few ideas that they'll be following up on with me that will hopefully turn out well.

You have to do what you have to do. Schooling is always a good move and if you have your parents that support you go for it. Good luck!

I was at 17, what's your point? What's wrong with going back to school to try to expand your horizons? If you are done learning you might as well be dead. Life can't always teach you ultra technical fields such as sciences or complex finance like proper guidance can via a professor or other teachers.

Come on man, your so angry because you feel the guilt of living at home. Not everyone can leave the nest at a early age. I mean, all be it a very small % of the population, have a hard time adjusting to the real world. No reason to be so angry about your situation.

Here is my advice to you Metaman.

Step 1) Anger managment classes - These will go a long way to helping you out of the parents house before 40. Or maybe 50, not sure.

Step 2) Try working a bit. I know the interweb is a cool and fun place, and nintendo is really neat, but try having a job. I am sure something close by your parents house is hiring.

Step 3) Talk to your local career center. They may have a good janitorial position opening up.

Step 4) Move out of canada. There is no money in Canada.

I did the same thing when I returned to study after working for a few years. I could have afforded to live away from home but I chose to cut my working hours right back so I could study more and living back at home allowed me to do just that!
