ptooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo............... if it's gone - good riddance - it was the worst tasting soft drink ever. even Fresca laughed at Tab.

you can still get tab and as for fresca they just reformulated it and put it in a pretty new can/bottle.

Interesting thread. I'm sure there's a ton of "dead" soda brands. Anyone know of a site that lists 'retro' sodas--preferably with pictures and descriptions/histories?

I still see a 6 pack on store shelves once in a blue moon... "Back to the Future" lol At least the can was pink :)

Fresca; the grapefruit flavored soft drink ROCKS! I actually went to the store earlier tonight and picked up 2 12-packs of it. :thumbsup

I'm not sure what happened with TAB. I think that died out with Flash Dance and all of the other 80's fads.

TAB's claim to fame was the first diet soda.

Diet Coke came along and whooped some ass.

End of story.

However, I've heard rumours of a reintroduction with a modified formula. *shrug*

That scene in back to the future is the one that dates it so much. Pepsi Free...lol

Fresca is even in jumping on the new "multiple flavor" bandwagon.

They've got a peach variation now.

I can't remember the name of the brand of 'diet soda' my mom used to get but it was a white can and came in all sorts of flavour all of which had this mega sweetener after taste.

It's still alive and well in Missouri.

There also used to be a Diet Rite soda which was also reformulated and comes in peach and raspberry now.

Do you remember 'Pepsi light'? It was NOT diet but had lemon in it. That was also in the late 70's or early 80's.
