Great movie. Better than the one it was parodying, oddly enough.

Nismo 10-30-2005 05:54 PM

Saw it a few weeks ago. Fucking hilarious.

NoCarrier 10-30-2005 06:13 PM

I expected to die laughing. It was ok. I smiled a couple of times. Highly overrated.

I thought it was dry humor but I liked the room mate. He was the highlight of the whole movie...

TDF 10-30-2005 11:46 PM

Sarah_Jayne 10-31-2005 04:50 AM

True story: The week after it came out in the UK and very few people had seen it yet, my friends and I were stopped by a very drunk man, named Malcolm (he said), in the street and asked 'If the zombies were coming for you which record would you throw at them'. This then started a debate in the middle of the street outside a pub with total strangers on what was zombie killing worthy.

It is very British and doesn't try to hide it..which is part of why I like it.

I rented the movie after some raving reviews here. The hype was so great I expected a classic. The movie was ok. That's all. Highly Overrated.

The first classic movie I saw was "The meaning of life" in 83 and I was 10, loved it. Saw many, many more british movies after. So I think I know what to expect from british movies and their humor.

it was alright. I ended up watching it after all my friends loved it, didnt really live up to the billing it had in my opinion, just an opinion though.

Yeah the britshness thing doesn't fly... monty python, the goodies etc.. I grew up on british humour.... then blackadder and red dwarf and up to little britain, black books etc today. I'm a brit comedy fan - It just wasn't that funny. One of the only things i found clever in it that didn't involve the flat mate farting was when he first went out the next morning and half slipped in the shop.. just a very understated situational thing. The rest frankly was a bit of a let down after really wanting to see it.. in fact the last 5 minutes were probably the best with what they got the zombies to do afterwards.

I just thought it was a wasted opportunity... it could have been hilarious.. sucks when you're expecting something pretty good and it turns out ot be only average and you start thinking of the ways it could have been better.

ModelPerfect 10-31-2005 07:38 AM

Radik 10-31-2005 07:55 AM

is that supposed to be an excuse for it not being funny then?? Ricky Gervais is brittish, he's hilarious, does that make him less brittish?

has to be the most overrated zombie movie/comedy in history...

It's not shit, but its not great either.
