You prolly don't know it, but I was about to spit out a mouthful of Bacardi and Diet Coke as I clicked on this thread.
Bacardi and Diet Coke is a great drink really (although an acquired taste), because you get a nice buzz and it keeps you awake. Nothing better than a wide awake drunk. :drinkup ADG Webmaster |

Fanta was invented by the Coke company during World War 2 for the Nazis in Germany because they couldn't get the ingredients to make coke their during the war, but could get ingredients to make an orange drink, hence Fanta. And that's not all Coke did for the Nazis in WW2.

But not in the UK *unless* the people you buy it from went to France and got a ton of it cheaply and brought it back to sell in the UK. Coke Light and Diet Coke do have a slightly different taste which I am sure is largely down to water. |

1 shot dry vermouth
3 shots apple Bicardi diet coke with lime ice Drink. |
Hell I drink DC for the taste...... not for the low calories or whatever. Hate sugary drinks
|
Never understood why they call soft drinks diet. I thought they tried to avoid negative words like that in product names. Everything else that has a reduced calorie version is called light or free. They dont call salad dressing diet ranch. Its fat free ranch because free sounds better. Diets suck, hence most companies don't use the term. Wonder why soft drink peddlers went with it?
|
you mean diet acid?
I cannot drink coke, its so acidic and filled with sodium it wrecks my entire digestive system. It bloats you worse than any sugar and has tons of sodium in it. And the diet is just worse as it has aspartame or whatever. I'd have to drink huge glasses of water just to get it out of my system. yuck its so unhealthy, soda. Should only be had like a treat every once in a while. |

Vincent: And you know what they call a... a... a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?
Jules: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese? Vincent: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what the fuck a Quarter Pounder is. Jules: Then what do they call it? Vincent: They call it a Royale with cheese. Jules: A Royale with cheese. What do they call a Big Mac? Vincent: Well, a Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it le Big-Mac. Jules: Le Big-Mac. Ha ha ha ha. What do they call a Whopper? Vincent: I dunno, I didn't go into Burger King. |
People forget that when coke first came out, first of all it contained cocaine. Woohoo, now we have redbull. But it was only served in soda shops and was like a treat. Then they figured out how to mass produce it and conviced the world they NEED coke, and even have several different versions to suit your dietary needs. My point? Its BAD for you. Its not something you should drink with every meal, or even everyday.

did you know that coca cola company was sold for $25M in 1919?!?!?!

We call it Coca Cola Light too. |
When I was in the USA, I noticed people eating a LOT of FAt food, but always drinking diet "drinks" (still big big glasses tho)
Thought that was funny:) |
In 1885, when Atlanta and Fulton County passed Prohibition legislation, Pemberton responded by developing Coca-Cola, essentially a carbonated, non-alcoholic version of French Wine Cola. The beverage was named Coca-Cola because originally, the stimulant mixed in the beverage was coca leaves from South America. In addition, the drink was flavored using kola (Cola) nuts, the beverage's source of caffeine. Pemberton called for 5 ounces of coca leaf per gallon of syrup, a significant dose, whereas in 1891 Candler claimed his formula (altered extensively from Pemberton's original) contained only a tenth of this amount. Contrary to popular belief, Coca-Cola never contained cocaine per se, which is a highly refined extract of coca leaves and was always far too expensive to use in a mass-market beverage. However, as cocaine is one of numerous alkaloids present in the coca leaf, it was nevertheless present in the drink. Today, the flavoring is still done with kola nuts and the coca leaf; however, the coca leaves used today are "spent" leaves - the leftovers of the cocaine-extraction process - and therefore the drink contains no trace of the stimulant.

Coca-Cola Zero is a product of the Coca-Cola company, released in June 2005. It is a sugar-free variation of Coca-Cola Classic, sweetened with a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium. This product is different from Diet Coke because of the sweeteners it uses (Diet Coke only uses aspartame), and because, unlike Diet Coke, this product is based on the original Coca-Cola formula. Diet Coke was an entirely new formula which would eventually become the basis for the controversial New Coke (later renamed Coke II).
Contrary to popular belief, Coca-Cola Zero is not a new formulation. The same blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium along with the Coca-Cola Classic formula has been available for quite some time in many European countries which were never exposed to New Coke. Commonly called Coca-Cola Light or Coke Light in Europe, the Coca-Cola Zero formula is identical to that used in foreign countries. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coke_Zero |

Diet coke is nasty stuff. When I worked at a restaurant long ago, Diet coke would always rot the plastic tubing, and if you touched the syrup with your hands you had to go wash it off immediately or else it would burn your skin....
