Enough with the fucking noise banners already
 

Jesus fucking christ - is there REALLY a fucking need for banners with noise.

if i turn my sound off I can't hear the tones I need to hear for other programs.

there should be a way to just turn the banner noise off from these fucking things short of killing the companies that pay to out them up which is a SERIOUS THOUGHT right about now.

Ive had my speakers up loud afew times after listening to music, scared the crap out me :(

I agree, they are a pain in the ass. every time I come hear I have to turn off the sound just so I can read the board. they are making me an enemy rather than an affiliate who wants to promote your program.
Well, off to get the extention to kill flash.

Sound on banners is annoying as hell. It's a stupid idea and does nothing except piss people off when their mouse accidentally runs over them. Great way to get new affiliates! Fucking idiots.

Me too... Was driving me nuts, every time I refreshed the page, if my mouse was somewhere else in the window while it was redrawing, the sound would play. I'd hear the damn things when clicking new threads and everything, and I never moused over the banner.

Yes!! Please!! Every so often my mouse scrolls across that one banner that . . well, I don't know what it says but it sounds like a turkey gobbling when I cross over it. . .makes me crazy.

Well! if anyone from GFY or PB is reading this right now, this should tell you a lot :

1-People seem to generally dislike 'em. I know the point is to get your message thru, not necessarily to get them to click. Which brings me to my 2nd point

2-People take measures towards those banners which affect the overall value of advertising on GFY. And THAT, is not so good.

very true - I have a very negative feeling towards any company who scares the shit out of me when I am listening to tunes and their f@cking sound bites come on and I cant shut them down. Owners are on the advertising idea that there is no such thing as bad advertising - in this situation - yes it is.

I refuse to send clients to companies that simply use techniques as annoying as a car or vacuum salesperson who sticks their foot in the door and wont leave until you buy.

This is definitely something that drives me nuts too. Can''t tell you how many times i've almost hit the roof by accidentally mousing over one of these banners. I've not clicked on a single one of these banners and never will.

I vote for no noise banners. They shouldn't be allowed.

Terrible. I run from banners with sound in them like the plague. Sometimes I close the entire page when I see one. Stop it.
