*WOW* - I haven't seen Jassie in a few years. I was one of the first to shoot her when she had just turned 18 and was getting into the industry a few years ago. It was great seeing her yesterday and catching up on old times. Thanks to the good folks at MacandBumble.com and especially to BigE for giving me the opportunity to shoot for them again and to see Jassie again after all these years :thumbsup

Thanks Tony - we tried some new stuff with Jassie. She's not your typical "Glamour Girl" so we didn't want to treat her as such. She's got a little bit of an edge to her so we experimented with some different things (distorted perspectives, makeup treatment etc.). I also spent the whole day shooting in the "raw" format which is something that I've never done before. Basically this was a day of experimentation and I'm happy to say that nothing went wrong :thumbsup

Ok it was a different look then Im use to seeing in your stuff.Raw pics How big of a card do you use? I would love to shoot raw you have so much control with the image in post then.

I have a couple of 1gig cards and with my Canon 1D Mark II, I can get about 100 raw pics on a 1gig card. I'm about to pick up some bigger cards and start shooting raw+jpeg. I can setup my camera to record the raw image "plus" the jpeg image. This will give clients the ability to use either. Some folks are happy with the jpegs and some would like to be able to use their pics for printed material. Having those raw images will allow me more and better control over the color and will allow the client more flexibility in how they use the images.

Shooting in raw is a new animal for me. It's a whole different digital workflow then I'm used to doing. But with clients being more demanding...it's something that I feel is important for me to learn and exploit :thumbsup

Awesome shots! I've just started using RAW too. I love the control you get. The white balance and everything. Can't imagine going back to just Jpegs now.

Kcat, a lot of that was the early stuff.. we got away from that a long time ago. I would say on a scale from 1 (none) to 10, we used to be at a 8+, and now we're about 5-6.. I've told the color correctors to shade on the side of natural, and we've been doing that for the past year or so..

Yea - I'm still figuring out the best workflow for me but it does seem promising. What software are you using?

Using Photoshop CS2, and the Nikon D70 plugin. It's got all kinds of controls on it. I've heard their capture program is nice, but I can't imagine needing more control then the setup I have now lets me have.

Damn... Just saw on your site that you do one on one photography teaching... I may be taking you up on that soon. I've been doing video for 8+ years, and got that down pat, but just picked up my first still camera a few months ago, and I'm totally lost.
