Can you believe this is fuck'n digital?

I'm constantly blown away with the quality of my digital camera. Digital has really come a long way over the last few years. Many of my clients swear that I'm scanning chromes - but it's all digital!

Depth of field is fucked up? Ya' think?

Perhaps I should have shot it at f32 for you Aaron. That way everything from the end of my lens to infinity would be in focus - would that be enough depth of field for you?

I threw her face out of focus on purpose Aaron. It was a creative decision - it's a decision that you might not necessarily agree with - but that's why I'm me...and your not! The internet needs more creativity these days - try it sometime :winkwink:

Aaron.......

after checking out some of the work on your site, I realize that your thoughts and/or critiques of my work have no merit. You are not qualified to discuss the quality of my work.

Looks like most of the content on your site was shot at F32 with an on-camera flash.....as just about everything I looked at had red-eye and NO depth of field. Maybe you haven't yet got to the chapter in your New York Institute of Photography course that discusses the creativity that can be achieved with limited depth of field and how to achieve this. Or, the cause and solution of red-eye. Both are important concerns if you are to be considered a professional shooter.

Of course, if your a snapshot photographer, none of this matters :moon

It's blurry because I dropped the film cannister on the way to the lab - kinda shook up the emulsion. Hey, her pussy is in focus - what more do you want?

Yea, perhaps your the one who needs lessons. I've been shooting for 13+ years, I know how to focus. If you look at the freak'n picture, you'd see her cunt is in focus. Her head is out of focus because I chose to shoot the pic that way. It's called "limited depth of field". Maybe Aaron can bring you up to date on that technique when he get's to that chapter in his lessons.

I don't wanna brag here, but any idiot with half a brain cell can look at the images on my site and see that I'm not a "snapshot photographer" like some of the guys who post here :winkwink:

If this isn't obvious to you, then I'm wasting my time discussing the finer point of photography with someone who can't even see!

Dean ... you been into the Newfie Screech tonight Bro ??

This board is called "FUCKING AROUND and general discussion" ...
Most of the guys who have responded to you are just yanking your chain .... this board is like that man ...

Dean is a friend, and a FINE photographer .... he knows his shit, so any haters can refer to the top left corner of this webpage ...

Also .... I would like to add, that Aaron too is a good friend and mighty fine photographer ... I think it is a fair assumption to say that they each cater to a slightly different clientele .... Aaron does a damn good job of finding us and shooting some of the cutest amateur girls I have seen, and I personally find his style of shooting very creative, and I applaud him for that ...

Dean has the credentials behind him, and it shows in his work ...
That is all that needs to be said here.

There are many fine photogs around us, some I know personally, and others I may know casually, some I have yet to meet ... but don't think that because I did not mention you I think you suck ... not at all ....

This thread involves two friends of mine, and I am just trying to offer my objective opinion, in hopes of diverting a potentially brutal pissing match ....

Now you two come give eachother a big hug, and lets try playing in the sandbox together NICELY !!!

Don't make me have to come and separate yous !!

:winkwink:

4Pics 03-19-2002 02:48 AM

girl looks out of focus...

maybe you meant it that way, but it still looks crappy

-=HUNGRYMAN=- 03-19-2002 02:52 AM

Ponder this for a moment .... if everybody's photographs looked EXACTLY THE SAME ..... I think this job would become sooooo fucking BORING real fast !!!

If I had to sit here and look at the same photos all day long .... same lighting .... same effects .... same poses ..... same field of depth .... I'D GO FUCKING NUTZ in about 3 days tops !!

I am thankful that the world has so many different photographers, each with a slightly different approach ....
My hat goes off to you guys !!!:thumbsup

Just be consistent with what you're saying. First you say you dropped it, then you say you chose to focus that way... Well, i am not a photographer and i am not gonna question your skillz. Its just your reply was funny and you sounded like blaming the focusing problem on something else.

Oh well, i am going to bed. I will read arons replies tomorrow i guess, hehe.

SNOW 03-19-2002 03:34 AM

I DONT AGREE WITH with attacking new people who come to this board to introduce themselfs and show you what they have..The same shit happened with Paul Markam and I Stuck up for him.. When you spend tens of thousands of dollars on content you have been around the block looking and you know whats out there... I have seen this guys stuff and it looks great...

PlanetContent 03-19-2002 03:37 AM

Hey Hungryman - good to see you!

Perhaps your right on with your thoughts man. I just felt attacked by Aaron for his remark about the depth of field being fucked up in that pic. I guess I just expected someone like Aaron to know the difference in a pic being fucked up and a pic purposely shot with limited depth of field. His comment was something that I would expect to hear from someone who knew nothing about photography...not by someone who has some photographic knowledge and education.

Photography is art and art is subjective. I would never tell another "fellow artist" that his "depth of field" is fucked up. Maybe he shot it that way - did it on purpose. Maybe that was his vision - that's what he wanted the pic to look like. Too bad all artists are not as respectful!

Hope things are good for ya' Hungryman!

Yes Lane, the part about dropping the film on the way to the lab was a joke....sorry you didn't get it. FOR FUTURE REFERENCE: Dropping your film on the way to the lab will not make your pics out of focus!

Also....

You say to me........."Well, i am not a photographer and i am not gonna question your skillz".

But you did question my skills when you said...."looks more like someone needs a lesson about elementary optics and focusing"

And you have room to talk about ME being inconsistant with MY statements? :winkwink:

Planet Content.....I personally like the depth of field twist....I assume the decision was based on the idea of creating a different focus for this shot...first thing I thought when I saw the pic was "Nice!!!!"

To many people on this board do nothing but shoot mediocre girls in a consistent and boring fashion....most of the images look flat and blah, blah, blah boring...

Nice Job.... I will get our content guy for Orgasm.com to check out your stuff!! and enquire about pricing

....And...MAYBE Aaron was FUCKING AROUND. Notice the :) in my initial post?

As far as my photography education.... I majored in PhotoJournalsim...It would have been just photgraphy but that was not an option at the school I attended. I throw most of the stuff I learned out the window to shoot amateur.

As I continue to read this thread....You seem to be pulling your head out of your ass thanks to Hungryman so perhaps by the end I will not feel so insulted.

AaronM 03-19-2002 11:20 AM

BTW... I laughed my ass off about the dropping of the film canister thing. Kinda reminded me of when I worked at a local photography store and these dumb fuckers would bring their film in for developing and as they handed us the film they would ask if the pics came out ok. God forbid they droped the film or we would tell them that they might have just knocked the pictures out of the frame. The fuckers actually believed it.

Then there were the ones who would insist that you should be able to tell right away if their pics came out....These assholes really pissed me off because they were so demanding. We always kept test film under the counter to show people how the cameras loaded and so forth so when these pricks started in we would switch their film with a test roll and pull the entire strip out, hold it up to the light, and tell them that it was all WAY over exposed.

AH, those were the days. :thumbsup

pimpshost 03-19-2002 11:23 AM

I just got a Nikon Coolpix 995 on Ebay and it rocks.

RedShoe 03-19-2002 11:58 AM

Dean,
Don't listen to these knuckleheads. They're just pulling your chain. When you defend yourself, it just charges the board up, and everyone goes on the attack.

I live in the valley, and will be moving to N.Hollywood in few days. ICQ me sometime, or have your people call my people, maybe we could hook up. Hollywod is where I spent my most impressionable years.

Ever go to Mondo Video? I practically grew up inside there. I once watched Bridgette the Midget get fucked in there. (Just before her first porno). The guy picked her up, and walked her all over the store while fucking here. LOL It was hilarious.

PlanetContent 03-19-2002 12:00 PM

Aaron said...."You and I both know damn good and well that you did not do that on purpose."

How can you say that Aaron? Do you know what I was previsualizing when I made that photograph? I use limited depth of field all the time Aaron. It's a great effect when you want to control what the viewer is looking at. By keeping an area in focus and throwing other areas of the pic out of focus, you control where the viewers eye goes first. This is elementary stuff if you've studied photography for any length of time.

Here's a few more examples of my use of "limited depth of field".

http://www.planetcontent.com/content...zophia_big.jpg

http://www.planetcontent.com/content...lezley_big.jpg

Aaron, do you think I shot those 2 pics that way on purpose? Or do you think I'm the kind of photographer who just takes whatever comes out of the camera? Yes, I shot those pics like that on purpose - just as I shoot everything I shoot "on purpose"!

You said..."I throw most of the stuff I learned out the window to shoot amateur."

That's fine man - but don't expect everyone to shoot by your rules. I shoot amateurs too - I just choose to do a better job then most. I want my girls to be amateur - not my photography!
