An Idea for you technical nerds out there.

Integrate a credit card reader into a keyboard just like they do at your local Habib store. If someone makes an internet purchase then they can just swipe their card rather than putting in all of their personal information and blah blah.

I don't see how this would be too difficult and would cut down internet fraud by MEELIONS of dollars a year.

Standard Keyboard = $20
Keyboard with integrated credit card reader = $40
Internet fraud reduced by millions = worthless to me but priceless to monopolizing credit card companies.

Just an idea, run with it if you want.

And add the fingerprint reader to that and you're getting a safe market ;)

It's not the first thread about it... I think m$ wants to integrate some with new gen computers.

MCR keyboards are more expensive than that to have the security bundled in with it. Check out the Cherry Keyboards. Plus it's not hard to duplicate the mag stripe in a credit card. it's harder to get the CCV number off the back

i'll look for a link to the cherry keyboards

inexpensive biometric devices are simply a CCD camera that takes a picture of your thumb/finger and compares it to a stored image. Having said that, if you make a photo copy of your thumb/finger print then reverse it and hold it up to the reader, it will take it.

oops typo in first post... "MCR" = "MSR" for Mag Stripe Reader

Cherry Keyboard site. http://www.cherrycorp.com/

I remember seeing a prototype of that in 1999. It's in the works somewhere :)
