what's the difference between 'emo' music and just regular pop alternative music? i don't hear anything that makes this 'emo' stuff different.

Emo is short for like, emotional or something. It's usually depressing....and it's nice to wallow in your depression while listening to it. It's sorta has it's own special image....those crazy emo kids . You need to die your hair black and dress kinda geeky. Regular pop alternative doesn't have that....
