Beer that's actually made in Canada.

I love marketing.

Maxy 11-16-2005 03:25 PM

Is it really?

Maybe it's uh an australian brewing method?

:uhoh

sickkittens 11-16-2005 03:26 PM

It seems like every product is like that nowadays.

I'm sure it's an Australian recipe and they probably make it over there too.

All US Fosters is bottled in Canada, probably brewed there too. I don't have a can infront of me.

Isn't it a Miller product?

"Foster's The Brand
Foster's Lager is the largest selling Australian beer brand in the world with more than 100 million cases of Foster's consumed worldwide every year.

Brewed in nine countries and over 20 plants, Foster's Lager is widely sold and distributed throughout Australia, Asia, the Pacific, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. It is the world's third most widely distributed brand, available in more than 150 countries.

Foster's Lager is the international flagship brand for the Foster's group."

From the Foster's Australian site.

I digress it's made all over the world. The only Fosters I have had was made in Canada.

Mike Okitch 11-16-2005 03:32 PM

Foster's is brewed under license by Molson in Canada.

I don't like Foster's or any Miller product except Beast Light.

BRISK 11-16-2005 03:36 PM

I've read that Heineken is brewed in over 50 countries

r-c-e 11-16-2005 04:03 PM

You don't need to hate beer son. When you grow up, I'll buy you one.

Lisa 11-16-2005 05:52 PM

r-c-e is right, I haven't seen Fosters on sale here in years.

The reason? Despite the clever marketing overseas, most Aussies consider that Fosters is Australian for cats piss...

Thank you!

Most Australians have been saying that.

Now apologize for Steve Irwin, Paul Hogan and Kylie Minogue and we'll call it even :thumbsup

Lisa 11-16-2005 05:59 PM

I've been trying to give Steve Irwin away forever! Unfortunately, despite visiting the US often, the prick keeps coming home.

Paul Hogan at least has the advantage of a bit of sentimentality amongst Australians, the original Paul Hogan show, with his sidekick Strop was funny...for the 70's at least.

And Kylie Minogue has the advantage of having a nice arse. :D

I'm sorry for Bryan Adams and Celine Dion.

VB is one god awful beer...

nebula 11-16-2005 06:07 PM

I love stuff like this.

85% of all lager is UK-made:

Carlsberg Export - slogan "so good the Danes hate to see it leave" - is brewed in Northampton

Japan's Kirin, India's Cobra and Jamaica's Red Stripe are all made in Bedford

Stella Artois is made in south Wales

Budweiser and Guinness are both made in London

Linkster 11-16-2005 06:54 PM

Swans is the one I would go back to Oz for - dont know what it is but probably the smoothest boat races I ever took part in :)

Americans will buy just about anything that their disposable income will afford them.
