Just got shocked/zapped while holding a iron water pipe in the ceiling....
 

re-wiring 3 fixtures with the power on, strippers sliped while holding on to an iron pipe....Goddamn do my fillings hurt... :helpme

I wish it was that easy, had to move a 3-way switch to a different wall. The wiring is commercial, brown, yellow, and green - all piped. no way to know the correct connections without the juice on.

everything in your house is grounded to those metal pipes. I bet your main junction box has a ground strap attached right to those pipes, along with the ground for your phone and your cable. Live wires and the house's main ground source....Yeah i could see getting a good jolt.
