how the fuck do they do it
i mean you download some file via P2p you open it and u get redirected to some site
how can i do this?> :helpme

Convience everyone to switch back to previous versions of media player where scripting was turned on by default. After you have done that I will gladly add a url redirect pop in any video you like when and where you like in said video for a very tiny fee, or teach you for a larger one.

I'm pretty sure the clip would be encoded with DRM.

Thats a part of it... but he's talking about free clips d/l'd from p2p programs.

So was I. Hmm guess I better take a look at drm again. Anyone have a .wmv file with a pop in it that was done with drm that works with the current media player in default settings that I can check?

I think the free clips don't pop up before the clips begin... They just redirect you to a site after the clip ends... Now with members vids, if you have them DRM'ed then they pop up before the clip and ask for login and pass, and no redirect in the end... hopefully that clears things up.

he's not referring to drm, he's referring to what the windows script indexer tool does, not as much traffic as before MS changed the default in fiuture wm players as aftershock said.(probably cause too many webmasters couldn't keep their mouth shut and everyone abused it.)

I used to do it a lot via peer sharing networks and stuff using the previous versions of media player. Lost the ability to after the media player upgraded. Used to set the pops right near or at the end of the video as well. Just did not relize it still was capable using drm. I.E. why I want to see a working video that does it, so if I see it myself and it works on a default player I will know I am not chasing down some red herring.

Got a pop before video played after I hit cancel. Pop did not work on 2nd or third play.

I think thats because you get the license the first time it plays or even hit cancel.

Thats from smutlounge BTW - They have most of the main sponsors videos already encoded with the site pop up. Its a great system.

You could encode the video in Flash and use Flash's getURL() function to call a javascript.

well my media player is updated..
for sure and i still get thoose pop ups

I dont think Flash vids would work that well on p2p.
