New 2257Ware Pricing Structure!

It's nearly the end of November and we still haven't heard of any decision coming from Judge Walker D. Miller regarding the preliminary injunction agreement between the Free Speech Coalition and the Department of Justice.

It's pretty clear that the government will continue to require the 2257 record-keeping requirements for adult webmasters, the only real decision will be whether there is a distinction between primary and secondary producers.

As of January 1, 2006 the pricing structure for 2257 MAVIS will change as follows:
2257 MAVIS Basic Edition - $499.95
2257 MAVIS Spider Edition - $1499.95

The reasons for the price increase are simple. When MAVIS was first written, New Breed Media was to handle the marketing and technical support for the product. My only role, on an ongoing basis, was to provide second level technical support and software maintenance programming as various needs for new features arose.

Unfortunately, some unforeseen circumstances were experienced which resulted in a decision to break our contract and not pay for the development costs of the software.

As a result of that decision, I had a choice to make. Should I orphan the current 'customers' that had been sold the software to or should I continue supporting the project and enable them to continue using the only completely 2257 compliant software solution available. I made the choice to continue the project and support the existing customers.

This decision on my part requires a great deal more of my time in terms of providing first-level technical support and also considerable effort in marketing the product.

Your 2257 recordkeeping investment is going to be one of the most important decisions you will make as an adult webmaster or content producer. You want someone who is totally and completely committed to the project for many years to come.

One important aspect of that commitment is the implementation of a software escrow service that is designed to allow continuation of the 2257 MAVIS product line even if some catastrophic event were to befall me, preventing the further development or support of the product.

Naturally, offering this software escrow service comes at a price and the only way to ensure the continuation of the product is to price it accordingly.

Our policy is to provide you with the best 2257 recordkeeping solution possible and at the same time provide lifetime product upgrades without a monthly service fee like some of the other solutions have decided to charge. Premium technical support and customization for particular customers will be available at an additional charge, as yet to be determined.

If you've been waiting to implement your 2257 compliance recordkeeping solution, now is the time to act. The current pricing of $99.95 for the Basic Edition and $599.95 for the Spider Edition will disappear at midnight, December 31, 2005.

2257 MAVIS is a complete, stand-alone Windows database application that does not require an SQL database administrator or other specialized personnel or hardware. As such, it is the only commercially available, fully 2257 compliant software on the market.

Yes, I'm RAISING the price... which is well within my pervue to do... You have no idea as to the time, energy and expense that went into the project. At this point, in order to ensure the product is around for the many number of years that it must survive as a result of the regulations, the only way to ensure it's longevity is to raise the price to a point where I can actually afford to provide the support and the software escrow service to make it a viable alternative to anyone who takes their 2257 responsibilities seriously...
