Is there a program that can do this? (file renaming)

In windows i have like 100 maps with each a bunch of files named 2.jpg 6.jpg 12.jpg.
Now all those files in every map need to be numbered 01.jpg 02.jpg 03.jpg.
To do this by hand will take me 3 hours.

potter 11-18-2005 07:58 PM

It is possible with php

candyflip 11-18-2005 07:59 PM

Google: Oscar's Renamer

Can't think of the link off hand.

my version of photoshop does that...
photoshop CS v.80
go into browse select the files > Automate > Batch Rename

sonofsam 11-18-2005 08:01 PM

i had thousands of pics that were 293.jpg when they should have been 293.JPG

and the program "total commander 32" did it.. even logged into my server and did the files that were on the server..

may want to look into that.. good luck, i know how annoying that shit is :(

Chris 11-18-2005 08:01 PM

im sure you can find a broke person around here to do it for 20-30 bux

Dirty F 11-18-2005 08:04 PM

Cool, never thought of trying to with ps.

Helix 11-18-2005 08:05 PM

Freeware
Irfanview does images and also batch renames

selena 11-18-2005 08:06 PM

I think...and I'm speaking from memory here...and a memory that is hellish...that the advantage to using a renamer program like I mentioned above is that it will batch process mulitple directories at one time.

Dirty F 11-18-2005 08:20 PM

kenny 11-18-2005 08:45 PM

Azlord 11-18-2005 08:52 PM

Dirty F 11-18-2005 08:53 PM

Trying acdsee now.

Oberon 11-18-2005 08:57 PM

I think the DOS rename command can do a batching rename like that, it will definitely do it in a batch file with the FOR / DO loop.

Young people. Sigh.

Dirty F 11-18-2005 08:58 PM

Acdsee only does 1 dir at the time...does anybody have a clue what im talking about really?

Makingcoin 11-18-2005 08:58 PM
