Even if the whole country's Gov is fucked up, the flag represents the people. The only reason a flag should be burned is for a private disposal of a worn out flag, or to save someone's life by using the fabric for bandage strips and such.

disturbing the peace. i dont like peopel burning flags, but they can do it if they like. flag or not, if anyone is on my property burning anything ill put a stop to it very quick.

One of the great strengths of a country is when people can exercise their right to protest, including and up to burning the flag.

As for the recent events I think it's wrong to burn the Stars & Stripes. Bush took everyone into the war by spin and lies. Maybe more appropriate to burn him. Probably get less resistance.

I spent 12 years in the military with a willingness to die in the defense of that freedom, even for people that I consider pieces of shit. Maybe it was an illusion, that is debateable, but to me that freedom included the right to say shit I fucking can not stand.

Until you are willing to put your life on the line to defend those freedoms, whether you like the message that that freedom allows or not, then I must say fuck off... you are merely a 'spectator citizen'.
