ronaldinho is great, he's amazing
he's awesome..

but pele... damnnn he's still in another league.. maybe one day ronaldinho will be on the same level

gangbangjoe 11-24-2005 11:01 AM

his skills are amazing and he is an amazing player

we need a time machine to set up a match between them

Downtime 11-24-2005 11:01 AM

ronaldinho is incredible, but I dont think he comes close to Pele

viking1 11-24-2005 11:04 AM

Ronaldinho is an bether team player and has bether technic then Pele had , but he will never come close to score as many goals as Pelč did !

Maradona : Well there he has some work to do, lets see in about 5 years time what he done for barca and the national team :thumbsup

Wiggles 11-24-2005 11:17 AM

Trent Edison 11-24-2005 11:38 AM

That was a commercial right? I remember seeing it

heymatty 11-24-2005 11:45 AM

He is not close to maradona, he's not even that close to Zidane. His tricks are cool and all but not got the mental aspect of greatness.

wedouglas 11-24-2005 11:45 AM

you mean soccer?

I don't think it was a commercial. Just some show or something like that.

Ross 11-24-2005 11:46 AM

So hard to say. The man is only 24 years old or so, Pele and Maradonna were at the height of World Football for years upon years.

Wait till the end of Ronaldhinos career and ask this question. So far tho - at this moment he is the best player in the world bar none!

Miguel T 11-24-2005 11:49 AM

Ronaldinho Kicks ass!!!

Jakke PNG 11-24-2005 11:52 AM

You can't really compare modern players with the old legends...
I'm sure ronaldinho is infact a BETTER player than either Maradona or Pele were in their days, but Pele and Maradona were both SUPERIOR when compared to the other players of their era... Ronaldinho doesn't have that edge as there's several superb players nowdays :)

johnny1 11-24-2005 11:56 AM

Pele & Maradona by far...
I think Roberto Baggio would come after them... :winkwink:

DaLord 11-24-2005 12:00 PM

It's not fair to compared Ronaldinho to Pele and Maradona yet.
Give him some time and do the math when he decides to stop as the other two :)

All 3 are/were godlike players...

Manowar 11-24-2005 12:04 PM

i think he is

Well, he got the gold ball 2 times a road , he is so good as Zidane say`s that he don`t know who good he is , he is still 24 and 2 times best player in the world.

did you watch the match on saturday against Real Madrid ? he out played them alone, he was so good ,that only Maradona can come up with this shit on his best day`s !

He is special ! so was Maradona and Pele :thumbsup

Pornopat 11-24-2005 12:06 PM

He is a good player and at this moment he is excelling because of the things he is learning from Henk ten Cate.
Pele is another league though. Not even Romario or Ronaldo were in the same league as Pele.
Pele won worldcups almost on his own.

You realized that he is not playing for them anymore right? I think you might be confusing him with Messi.

ronaldinho plays for barca aswell as messi!

GoodGuy 11-24-2005 12:11 PM

alexg what kind of question is that? do you know anything about soccer? I think you don't.

Ronaldinho is not even close to Maradona or Pele...

Those here saying that these new young soccer players are better than Maradona or Pele, have obviously never ever seen Maradona or Pele playing soccer.

too many young people here that watch some soccer matches at ESPN and make opinions like they have watched soccer since 1950. Weird.

I think that is a bit harsh on ronni. It is hard to compare players from different eras. Think our thoughts should be with George Best (Pele described him as te best player ever) who by all reports will not last night.

I misunderstood his quote I realise now.
I though he ment Maradona was playing for Barca.
He was but he retired a long time ago from playing.

Ok now there you are wrong!
He is a lot thinner and he can take a good free kick again but he will assist the national coach....
The national coach is doing well.
:thumbsup

I dont know man, my favourite player has always been zidane, the elegance of the play and the splendid technique. Ronaldinho is by far the most skilled player in the world right now but I think Maradona would have sent him up to the stands to buy sasauge.

Pelé, nah man he was brilliant but both Maradoná and Ronaldinho are better then him.

Guys ya gotta forgive my ignorance on this but where I come from football is a whole different sport.

Anyways, what I want to know is what is that guys name Ronaldo or Ronaldino? I'm confused.

heymatty 11-24-2005 04:12 PM

I'd actually pick Thierry Henry for my side before Roni.

jayeff 11-24-2005 04:14 PM

I'm not enough of a football fan to analyze every nuance of technique and style. But in a World Cup match, I once saw Pele pick up a ball in his own half, accelerate with it fast enough to leave those marking him behind, go apparently effortlessly past several defenders and finally from somewhere around the penalty spot, put the ball in the net. He made everyone else on the field look like beginners.

It was an amazing piece of play and although I have seen Maradona and many other great players in action, I have never seen anyone else come close to that run.

chodadog 11-24-2005 04:18 PM

There's no way he's as good as Pele. In my opinion, the greatest player ever is a toss up between George Best and Pele.

Two different players. Ronaldinho really means little Ronaldo.

Scott McD 11-24-2005 05:37 PM

Ronaldinho is fucking awesome !!!!

Barca must be faves to win the Champions League this time round.

A joy to watch !! :thumbsup

Chris E 11-24-2005 05:43 PM

You seen Messi aswell?

Fuck me that guy is going to be amazing!
