Great camera! Before we used canon XL 1, but HD video much, much better.

I feel like Im the only one who doesnt see the emperors new clothes, its a bigger picture,its widescreen but the quality doesnt look any better than sd,in fact correctly lit sd would look much better than that. Also HDV is not hd.

Because this is for internet use. The quality is great on DVD. This is too big differece between HD video and usual DV video.... I can not give you it now, because the file will be approx 40 MB., instead of 12...

shhhhh, let everyone else go the HDV route. Guy like you and me will clean up with REAL HD.

The HD work is already done for you. Just buy the feed and make it easy on yourself :)

I remember when DV came out and the DVCAM (Sony). People who shot Beta SP
said DV would never be a "professional format". This was before reality tv became popular and what are they shooting all this hand held footage with? DV!
HDV is reasonably priced and allows more people the opportunity to produce content.
The average consumer is not goint to stand up, stop wacking it and say "you know that girl is so hot but since this is not "Real" HD I think I am going to go mow the lawn.

I would never insist that my surfer gets some new codec. I am outta there like quick.
