I reccomend the free from microsoft ( windows media encoder ) that way you can make sure its the right format to... True, a regular splitter is faster, but not better

It's been working and doing it's job for almost 2 years now.

New features and fixes are added pretty regularly.

Splitting files is only the tip of the iceberg. I wouldn't use it as a full video editing suite, but for slicing, dicing and encoding...it's a great app.
