Should Make-Up Be Called De-Uglyfier ??

4 of us had a table booked for dinner on Saturday, and we were late because we were waiting on my gf's dumb friend to get ready.

We went to get them early, and this bitch spent over 30mins putting on make-up, knowing we had about 15mins to get there.

She can't go anywhere without putting so much of it on, and don't get me wrong, she looks hot when she does go out, but the fact that she has to put so much of that on to look like that.

Women speak of make-up like a normal thing, it's just something they always use. I'd like to see it if it didn't exist. I read a while ago about a woman who was married, and always got up in the morning before her husband to get her make-up on, so he wouldn't see her without it.

Make-up = De-uglyfier ??

Too much can make a woman look ugly just as easily as it can make her look pretty.

I hate seeing a pretty girl with a ton of shit on her face so thick you can smell it.. :1orglaugh

lol Scott so true
but overall I'd say it's a good thing, sometimes even funny if the clown factor is high

What a nice term--I'll start using that from now on.. LOL

Charles Revlon said in the factories we produce make up in the drugstores we sell hope

MrJackMeHoff 11-29-2005 11:00 PM

its already called 'make up' cause it makes up for her lacking good looks.. Women are sensitive enuf as is

CDSmith 11-29-2005 11:05 PM

De-uglifier.... sounds about right.

I prefer women who go light on the clownface, and let their natural looks shine through.

The Ivory soap girl look.

definitely. I see it as cheating. Have you ever wondered what it felt like to wander around in those tight clothes too? LOL they sure go through a lot of shit to make sure they meet a man with enough money. (No generalization here, only some of 'em :winkwink:)

I know someone like that... Never on time for anything. She'll be late for her own funeral!

I am not a make-up artist but I know too much of it makes you look like a horrible monster.

I'm a qualified makeup artist, I hope I can contribute.
I like makeup - I think it has its place, and that place is in two categories-
1) Enhancing
PROPER makeup, when done.. properly.. is almost unnoticable. Things like white eyeliner, blush in correct positions, bronzer shaping etc, are hard to discern.
The problem is most women *don't* know how to do their makeup properly.
Most women DON'T know that they've got a warm or cool skin tone, and buy makeup accordingly.
Most women DON'T know what type of foundation to use, and when.
Most women DON'T know where to put things (blush, eye liner, etc)

I think it's great in moderation done well. I think it's also great to see dumb people make themselves look ugly with it ;)

or
2) Dramatically altering-
For cosmetic coverups, like blemishes, scars etc, or stuff like stage / movie makeup.

I want you to do my makeup :thumbsup
I like my MAC and MAC brushes... makeup is fun! And I can't wait to try all the paints and pigments but I've been busy so I haven't gotten to it yet, but it's on my X-mas list!

I don't like it "too natural" though, I like the really dark smoky eyes "pornstar racoon looking eye" look and lips so glossy you can see your reflection in it...
:helpme

Zoe is very bright and happy looking like summertime and Chantal looks rather elegant and classic like a prim and proper Victorian or English lady? Very nice jobs! I like it!

Do you also do Raven's makeup? I know you take her pics but her makeup looks really natural but still good, I always wanted to know if she does it herself or has an artist on call...

I've done raven's makeup once, really quickly... didn't have my gear with me.
I'm in Australia, she's in the US ;)

She's got a good eye, and knows what she wears well. That said, I'd love to get a chance to sit down and do her makeup, from contouring up!

Th!nk 11-30-2005 08:30 AM

the first girl looks better without makeup...

High Quality 11-30-2005 08:32 AM

LOL that isn't a bad name for it ;)

Th!nk 11-30-2005 08:35 AM

i would like spending more time on taking a bath than putting on make up...:)
like those girls who looks fresh even without it. eventhough make up really help hide some imperfections...it's just that it must be use appropriately / evenly.
