Is simulated beastiality legal in USA/Canada?

Does the VISA policy have any merit? Are they reinforcing the law, or are they censoring products according to their personal tastes?

Rip 03-25-2002 12:57 PM

I dunno, but I see people on their lunch breaks outside the VISA processing center petting dogs all the time, god only knows what they do inside the buildings besides all those forclosures and reposessions

AdultWire 03-25-2002 11:37 PM

Haha.. I really am begginning to get the idea that there a) is no answer to this question, or b) it's just not generally known.

Babaganoosh 03-26-2002 12:07 AM

Like you're going to get a serious reply to anything here! I saw this question and was just waiting for the wise ass replies to start rolling in. I'd say you have been very lucky so far.

AdultWire 03-26-2002 12:31 AM

No-one else has done their research either.. they're all off fucking the dog.

Kimmykim 03-26-2002 12:57 AM

It really doesn't matter why or how they are doing it. They can do it and that's pretty much the issue.

http://sodomy.org should give you as much information about sex and laws in the states as you are looking for :)

Forkbeard 03-26-2002 03:01 AM

If you are talking about possession, display, and commerce in pictures, the ONLY thing that is categorically illegal in the United States is child porn. Anything else is illegal only if it is obscene -- the legal test for which has a number of extremely subjective and variable standards.

Bottom line here is, outside of CP the question "Is XXXX illegal in the United States?" cannot be answered. The answer is gonna be different for each different image, in each different community, and depend on each different jury and juror. You pays yer money and you takes yer chances. Given the impossibility of even figuring out what the pertinent "community" is for an image on the internet, it's fair to say that it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to tell in advance whether a specific image might be adjudged obscene, somewhere.

Visa is a business. They can do business with whomever they please, and like most businesses, they are pretty cowardly. However, their choices are not censorship, anymore than you are "censoring" Don King the next time you decide not to watch one of his lame fights on pay-per-view.

AdultWire 03-26-2002 03:05 AM

Well, my real purpose here is in trying to decide if VISA has created an opportunity for legitimate business owners, or if they've simply made life more difficult for criminals. Apparently, it's not such an easy line to draw.

This is excellent info.. but it seems to be applicable to committing acts of bestiality.. not depicting them. Certianly snapping photo's of a simulated act (not a real one) can't be considered sodomy or sexual abuse.

Is there no case law related to simulated bestiality?

AdultWire 03-26-2002 03:54 AM

Haha.. I also find it amusing that in some places, the act of bestiality is a misdemeanour where in others it's punishable by 25+ years.. HAHAHA.

smack 03-26-2002 04:00 AM

West Virginia: C NONE

doesn't it figure west virginia has no law against it? shit that would break almost 30% of the legal marriages in the state.

AdultWire 03-26-2002 04:42 AM

Well I know where I'm moving MY colocation.

Kimmykim 03-26-2002 12:13 PM

Without there being a test case as to simulated, there's really no way to know. My *guess* would be that there is nothing wrong with it.

Of course Visa's beef with it could be that it is a falsely marketed product, since there is no bestiality in the site...
