Okay chio .. you always crack me up lol |
I took this on top of Turtle Mound in the Canaveral National Seashore.
Turtle Mound is the highest shell midden in the nation. This two-acre site contains over 35,000 cubic yards of oyster shell, extends more than six hundred feet along the Indian River shoreline, and stands about fifty feet tall. (In prehistoric times, it was at least seventy-five feet high.) Visible for miles offshore, the mound has been used as a navigational landmark since the early days of Spanish exploration. volusiahistory.com/turtle.htm http://www.bikinivoyeur.com/turtlemound.jpg |

Thank you very much for your kind words. To be honest i was more proud or should i say grateful that i made the trip back in one piece.
It was an amazing 10 days but being an old fart who never hikes i was unprepared for the really narrow trails ( 6 inches wide in some parts ) and the lack of Oxygen at 9000 ft. I really just went along for the wine and cheese. If you like cheese Switzerland has a vast selection and as we hiked through France Germany and Italy as well as Switzerland the choice of wine was out of this world. I shot 2000 images and still haven't finished working on them but here's another few that i like. Quote:

I suck at landscapes, but here we go
http://ninjito.com/dump/qx-geehi-13.jpg http://ninjito.com/dump/qx-geehi-9.jpg http://ninjito.com/dump/qx-sandkings-2.jpg http://ninjito.com/dump/qx-sandkings-3.jpg http://ninjito.com/dump/qx-transit-3.jpg BTW SilentKnight.. I'm calling you out - i see that photoshopped-in mirror in your shot ;) |
btw, the panoramas are 'real' panoramas - no stitches or crummy APS (which is 35mm cropped, hah!) - shot off the russian horizon 202 camera.
Wish i had an XPAN :D |
