What happens to .XXX project? Is it dropped finally?
 

Controversial plans to create the Internet domain .XXX purely for pornography have been dropped just days before they were due to receive approval, according to ICM officials.

ICANN Chairman Vint Cerf said Wednesday that the issue had been removed from the agenda of the upcoming ICANN Board meeting due to time constraints. He did not indicate when it might be reintroduced. Full Story...

According to people that are at the ICANN meeting today - there are a couple of very vocal people opposed to it in that subgroup - and with the presidents group asking for it to NOT be approved, its likely that it will be shelved for some time - but then there are a lot of supporters out there as well that would make a tidy profit so the battle will be there for a while.

they dropped that .XXX? that's good news.
