Is it really as gay as they say it is over there in San Francisco? I've always wanted to know?

I just can't blame the plane for that.

seeric 12-05-2005 07:57 PM

san francisco rocks. one of the coolest cities i have ever been to. the city breathes culture. maybe homophobes shouldn't go there. if you haven't been to the city then you haven't lived.

Dirty F 12-05-2005 07:59 PM

A piece of metal from a previous plane taking off hit the tires and then hit the fuel tank.

I remember this:

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/image...oncorde238.jpg

was a really beautiful plane. When I was a kid, during the summer we'd go to Rockaway beach and every now and then one would fly over the beach -- it was fucking amazing, nothing sounded like that.

Why did it take off in the first plac if it's on fire? :(

I can't imagine the crew were aware. Take off is all full-throttle and mad thrust, everybody's got their mind on the trip ahead. Plus, who expects a fire from behind -- ? -- the Titanic was a waste because they could have seen what lay ahead, but arrogance, alas... got the best of Captain Smith.

Imagine how a big plane could do a big tragedy because of some people's carelessness. :(

The plane had passed the point of no return and couldnt stop in time. The pilot was aware because his indicators warned him of engine trouble and the air traffic controllers words "You have flames behind you". The pilots only real option was to try to make Le Bourget which is apparently about 5km away, but it was to no avail. The wing literally disintegrated on him plus with the engines gone he didnt have enough power to keep the plane up.

Exactly why the passenger compartment planes needs to be able to eject.

They weren't high up enough to use such a thing here, but in other crashes....

How exactly would you eject an entire passenger compartment?

PaulB IYP 12-07-2005 01:25 PM

We're there any survivors????

It happened a few years ago and no, there were no survivors.
