So my friend received an email from worldsex asking for data of his creditcard...

It reads:
"Hi,

Unfortunately, due to credit card fraud, cheaters and chargebacks I have
to start a more stricter account management. Therefore I have to ask you
if you can provide me with more information regarding your account.

Please provide me with the following information.

1. Tell me why your whois info doesn't correspond with your credit card
information (in case it doesn't).
2. Send me a scan of your credit card (you can blackout most of the
number if you want, just leave the last 4 digits)

If I don't get an answer within a few days, I am forced to delete your
account and blacklist all your information and share that information
with other tgps. This to protect myself and others from any financial
problems

Sorry for these rules, but unfortunately a small group is ruining it for
the majority.

Best regards
Pierre

The funny thing is that he received it and I did not...I wonder if this is a real email from Pierre of just a phisingjob....

What makes it suspisious is that he does not mention my friends name while asking for the securitycode of his creditcard....
And how comes he does not ask everybody...

Wow, people should never send their info like that through mail. Pierre should know that. If he wants their info he should make a secure page on his site. Very odd thing to ask.

It's common to email/fax your credit card and other docs to online bizs.

YES.

www.ThePlanet.com and lots of massive hosting companies wanted me to fax a copy of my credit card with NONE of the numbers blocked including the FRONT and BACK of the card (but the CVV number can be blocked as it's forbidden to give out due to Visa rules).

If it's real the only problem would be the sharing of info with other site owners if one were to declain to send all that info. Not wanting to share such info doesn't = scammer. Sharing such info for simply not wanting to give out such personal data could equal a very big law suit.

:thumbsup :thumbsup

sound a bit extortiony to me

Sharing that information with other TGPs, especially when nothing has been done wrong is defamation. With a paper trail (e-mail), it'd be a pretty open and shut case.

He might need to cover his own ass untill he's blue in the face, he should know better than asking for this to be sent by email.

Don't easily trust someone, specially in the internet.

Hi Pornopat,
Do you want me to send you an email as well? ;), if you want one I can make that happen, whatever floats your boat ;)

Yes, I send those emails. I send them to premium account members which match a certain profile. I had some people doing chargebacks which turned out be stolen credit cards. So in order to protect myself from chargebacks and other cheaters, I send this email where I ask for some more information about their account or sexual preferences.

I also ask for a scan of a credit card yes, but if you've read my email, you see I only ask for the last 4 numbers, thats the same info I can see in the processor admin. What do you guys think that I am gonna do with this info? that I am gonna guess the other 12 numbers including their ccv code to become a carder myself?
I want to see the card to make sure they're not stolen. If I don't get an answer in a few days, I just assume he doesn't have the card, and thus uses a stolen one (the whole reason for me to email the user), I then refund the money and blacklist all the users info and I will share this with other tgps/ advertising agencies.
I don't like this work myself either, but I've had enough with people using stolen credit cards.

If you have any questions regarding your account, you can always email me ofcourse.
regards
pierre

Gotta protect yourself... All of the big sports betting sites have used this similar screening practice for a long time.

Thanks for confirming it Pierre. You can ask for anything you want from me. I would bring it to you instead of send it in an email though.:-)
I just wanted to make sure it was you cause I have not read yet that you did this and it is not mentioned anywhere. Phisingjobs seem highly popular these days... My last emails to you went unanswered btw....
See you in January maybe.

Pornopat 12-07-2005 06:18 AM

Sexual preferences????? Only read that now....9 o'clock here...lol
