Well, that was sure fun.
I have been meaning to go check out a car I wanted to buy, and today presented an opportunity, so I took it.
'06 Charger, black, with a Hemi. I have been lusting after one since the first time I saw a picture of one.
The salesman is eager to have me test drive it, so we head down the street and he want to show me a couple things, emphasizing the pick up, suspension and steering radius.
First, the power test. There are not many clear spots around here at 4:30 PM so we take what we can get. 0-80 easily in the 1/8 th mile.
Then he wants to show me how good the suspension is. He instructs me to make a U-turn and stay in the right hand lane where we will hit a dip in the road. "See how fast you can hit it." Not a problem.
Light turns green, I crank the wheel and floor it, burning rubber all the way. Hit the dip at a little over 80. He probably should have put his seatbelt on as he went crashing into the roof of the car.
Fun little car for sure. I would have come home with it today iof the closer wasn't such an idiot ("what if I knock $7k off?" then offers $700 off).
Pretty sure I will be driving one to Internext.
