Can't you just say YOU'RE WELCOME?????
What is it with people? I've noticed lately that when I say "thank you" I get "huh huh" or "no problem" what ever happened to good old "you're welcome" It's become a pet peeve of mine!
|
I am totally with you on this one. It annoys me more in person then online though.

Than online. |
I always say "you're welcome" after I get a "thanks" or "thank you". I like to get the last word anyway, lmao ;)
|
I thought that the answer for thank you was no problem....hyeheheh
|
i say Chumon a yo
|
is this really what you spend your days thinking about? :1orglaugh
|
"No Problem" is acceptable to me. It's the "Yup" or the "uh huh" or the no response at all that bother me. Manners are gone.
Parents suck these days. |
Most people don't even say Thank you
|
I can handle the "no problem" because I take that at face value. If they say it was no problem, then I didn't ask for something impossible.
I'd like to hear more of "thank you" though. I appreciate it when someone thanks me for someting. :) |
I dislike "np" as a replacement for "You're welcome", and I always make a point of saying "You're welcome", or "You're very welcome."
|
People in general just have piss poor manners these days:(

What pisses me off more is not even getting a thank you when I do something for someone. The other day I held the door open at a sushi place for a family of four and not one of those fuckers said thanks.
|
My uncle has this same pet peeve, and I am guilty of saying no problem. Although since my uncle pointed it out I try and say You're Welcome more often. Old habbits die hard though
|
No problem is same as you are welcome. It is no less polite.
|
i always say 'no problem', didn't realize this annoyed people.
|
Yeah I fuckin hate that. And I still keep saying thank you to the same people. :(
|
For some reason it bothers me to say "you're welcome". I always say no problem or, even shorter, "no prob".
In Spanish, the translation is closest to "Don't mention it". |

I couldn't agree with you more, Funbrunette!
|
Funbrunette I agree with you and this is one of my pet peeves as well.
I always say 'thank you' and 'your welcome' when the time is appropriate. God Bless having parents who raised me with manners. |
I thought I had good manners, but based on this I guess I don't! :Oh crap
In person I'm more inclined to say 'you're welcome' or 'no worries' than anything else Online it's about getting the responses out promptly and that often results in 'anytime' or 'no problem/np' |

It would take less than 5 seconds to type out No problem OR You're welcome, so I don't see that being a time management issue like you suggest. |

grammar nazi :1orglaugh |
I'm one of the dreaded "no worries" or "no problem" people...but I don't get enough thank you's to give out too many anyways
|
Im a "no problem", "yeah sure", "forgeddabodit" or "anytime"
but its pretty much the same thing no? Usually said to people that are thanking you for something that really wasnt a problem for you to do. I think Your Welcomes are saved now for the biggies, when the thank you was really well deserved :winkwink: |

I always say "No problems" ... well most of the time
|
I'm guilty of that... It drives people crazy... I think it may be something that we pick up out here on the west coast because the majority of my friends do the same thing, and I've noticed that most people in Vegas and Cali do the same.

Oh fuck off.
Now your welcome. |
I rarely say no problem it is more "no worries" but if someone has done something for me then it is always thanks, thank you. I think it is a matter of respect for me anyway.....(c:
|
I'm guilty of saying no problem instead of you're welcome, sorry !

I couldn't care less what people say to me if I say thank you. If they say something, hey at least they said something at all. I say no problem when people thank me, because it makes it seem like it was less of a hassle for me to do whatever they asked me to do. If I said, "you're welcome", I feel like they'll think I had to take time out of something I was already doing.
No problem = Hey no worries! You're welcome = I was doing something else, but I still took time to help you. |
