What's The Most Memorable Gift You've Ever Recieved?

My parents bought me 2 Technics Turntables, Pioneer DJM500 an amp and 2 speakers when I was 15. A gift that keeps on giving, although I havn't played a gig in like 7 months....playing other people's records is sucking now cause of all the shitty music being released by little fuckers with $500 producer programs. :(

wdsguy 12-08-2005 11:08 AM

None, I always get shitty gifts.

its a toss up:
nintendo or roller blades....both of those 2 christmas' stick out in my mind.
i was hella poor growing up so to get a ninetendo was INSANE (its the xbox360 of today..everyone wanted it).

but i also wanted roller blades so damn bad, and when they first came out, they were expensive, but my mom saved every penny she could and bought them for me :)

Yeah I was thinking about how special it was getting a nintendo. I was a pooooooor ass immigrant in brooklyn with like 1 12" family TV that someone threw away. My parents cleaned peoples hair in a barbershop to buy that nintendo fo me and I mustve played it till my head hurt every day until the genesis came out.

:thumbsup

My most memorable gift has to be this christmas card from my daughter when she was 5 yrs old.

That is a great gift, and I am sure one that will be kept until the day that you die.

For now, the best gift I have ever gotten was a happy healthy baby boy. And even though there were a few complications for mom, she made it through just fine.

Hmm.. Either my Fender Strat (what a beauty!) or my cannon video camera :) Both are goodies

EdgeXXX 12-08-2005 01:53 PM

For Christmas (my senior year in HS) my parents surprised me with the keys to a brand-new Mustang Cobra Convertible sitting in the driveway.

My ex made me a collage...my name in big letters made from shards of broken mirror, and glass beads of various colours placed around it which was apparently a sunset. Freaky gift and that was after we'd split up. It was certainly memorable but not in a good way.

Maxy 12-08-2005 02:12 PM

The poetry on that kids card is pretty articulate for a 5 year old.

WiredGuy 12-08-2005 02:42 PM

A hand written letter from a really close friend, its common to get just a card or something, but to take the time to handwrite a long letter like this, much more meaningful than most tangible items. And I still have it like 3 years later.

Out of all the toys, jewelry, clothes, video games, and other expensive items etc etc I have gotten in my life, the gift that sticks out the most to me is the giant edible candy cane my dad got for me when I was 6.

Bluewire Ross 12-08-2005 11:22 PM

Probaly when I got my Amiga 500 with montor, also my first real PC was really special.
Same when I got a 28 000 modem with internet for the first time.
