YARGH! Business - If you could remake paypal/epassporte
What would you add to make either better? My paypal system after a year of solid coding/designing/planning/investing should be complete within the next month.
That said what do you as a user feel lacks from current systems? Give me a wish list. I know a big thing would be ability to transfer to and from these systems easily (no more epass>paypal> and vice versa type transfers) Having a debit card attached to your account, so you can use it online or wherever credit cards are taken... We have these already, What other things would be important? For merchants/program owners we have a mass payment system for affiliate payments. |
probably the ability to accept credit cards.. (similar to 2checkout.com, nothing adult related) that would be the number one thing I've been seeing requested.
personally I'd like to see great integration with popular billing systems (modernbill etc..) that allows you to do recurring billing properly, ie the fees change and the user just hits "accept". Example: Customer goes over on his bandwidth usage and is billed $30 extra, the invoice is passed onto the customer, and they click "I agree". Or they could have the ability to just trust a company. I'd also like to see the ability to pay for casinos/sports bets with the account. |
1.) Constant uptime... to keep clients trust you can't have downtime once every day like epassporte... if epassporte was a bank, and people couldn't use their debit card for a long period every day, the bank wouldn't have any clients anymore
2.) Support... support and the having someone available 24/7 to answer my questions / concerns is big for me.... and from what i've experienced with epass, its a lot of COPY AND PASTE type replies... i'll post more as i think of them |
Withdraw to any bank account.
|
oh yeah the god damn debit card doesn't freeze up on you in different countries...
and then you have to pay $3/minute to be on hold for half an hour to get it lifed, ! FUCK that sucks |
Option to see your account history for at least one year...
Funds in an escrow service would help you to build trust as well btw |

Thanks for the input. |

History can go as far back as your account. Escrow... already in. |
more like paypal in every way, and less like epassporte in every way
the ability to pay for things and it be taken directly out of my bank account, instead of having to "reload" my online account, then make the transaction....that is fucking annoying |
transfer of funds by wire to foreign accounts like in paypal :2 cents:
|
in fact, i LOVE how paypal is "attached" to my bank account.....with epassporte you have to "access" your bank account if you want more money in there...I like it just being almost one in the same with no changes needed to intertwine them

Yes accounts are tied to the account just like with paypal. |
An address book type feature with a quick pay links would be nice. The address book could be configured to have contacts entered manually or auto imported based on transaction history using the other users signup data.

With epass, your username(for logging in) is the same as your payee account
So when payment is to chio@epassporte the ppl know you also login with chio...Now they can guess your password. After 3-6 failed attempts your account get blocked, and you have to call. Fucking annoying as well... So I would suggest, make your login different then the payee accountname,... Like [email protected] when I transfer funds to you....However on the site you login like user: chiomio777 password: whatever |

DING DING! ok this one we don't have we do have an import feature but not as well integrated as you are suggesting. Excellent idea. I'll pass it along. |
If *your money* is in the account - there doesn't have to be a series of hoops to jump through to withdraw it. no arbitrary daily limits on withdrawals or special cards. you can take *your money* and move it to *your bank account* without having to make compromises or justify the way you handle *your money*.

Oh yeah... and no $0 days... wtf is up with that, lol.

It would be good if the virtual cc number could be accepted anywhere online, not like the epass one which isn't accepted everywhere :2 cents:
|
oh yeah i got a good one...
the daily limit for withdrawls can be reset manually by either calling, or going online to reset it.. or you can manually set the limit if you know you're going to be paying for a trip or a tv or something... |
Paypal has updated a lot and they cover pretty much all ground now. If you say you have the adult paypal you will be a very very rich man.

Paypal has it 100% right in all areas except - customer service. Fraud has to be taken very seriously obviously, but if there's a problem with my bank account or merchant account I get to speak to someone BEFORE frunds are frozen. If for any reason the account/funds are frozen I am then able to resolve the issue. With Paypal you have no recourse at all. If you can have a system that hammers fraud hard, BUT does make it possible to differentiaite between fraud and simple mistakes, with a real person to contact who can judge circumstances on a per account basis using the info to hand, it would make all the difference.
Other than that the same as paypal in most areas i.e. euros, GBP and USD as an absolute min. for currencies accepted (AUD and YEN would be good too), the ability to add multiple emails accounts (paypal does this but does not allow enough), a decent backend that lets you pass a good amount of data into each sale and get useful info back, good uptime, easy payment link creation, customization of colours on your payment pages (or at least a choice so that they broadly match my site(s) ) selectable by data sent, part refunds possible, fees as good or better than PP, full card holder address details return for each transaction (a fraud measure to allow matching with shipping address my end), chargebacks fought/queried (paypal gives them FAR too easily - nochex for example fight them and often do not pass CB's back to the merchant), sensible transaction limits (ie not too low). Again though most of that repeats stuff that PP already does. The biggest problem with PP for me is again the customer service thing (not nice living in fear that your account may be frozen for no real reason with no appeal), more emails for those with a lot of online stores/sites....oh and keeping the CC entry/payment pages as simple as possible so customers don't get scared off at payment. As you may have guessed I'd use a good system heavily for physical goods payment rather than porn payments and money transfers. But then that's also the area where the BIG money is for you if you can get a foothold and get the fraud angle right i.e. very tough but also fair. |

As large as this project is/has been, it will be dwarfed with what I am hoping to announce at the Costa Rica show in February. Each of the two will tie together, and as far as I know has not ever been done before. |

Hopefully in February, I'll be able to announce that one. *fingers crossed* |
I know most people don't think or care about such things but I'd like to know the system is backed by reputable banking institutes, properly insured and directed by humans with banking and billing backgrounds.
Customer service that is well stocked with SMART people and not smartarses or some bubblegum chewer making minimum wage lol |

Nearly everyone at every level involved has very solid financial backgrounds, and experience. When we launch, full disclosure regarding who's involved, their experience, our banking, and merchant relations will be completely transparent. You have a right to know who's handling your money. |
It would be nice to transfer USD funds to a USD bank account in a European country. With PayPal you can only do transfers in the local currencies.
|
Cheers to a better mousetrap! :thumbsup

Debit card should be accepted by ALL online stores that accept VISA.
|
Virtual Visa? Debit Cards? What country is the bank situated that will be issuing the cards?

Bump.
SHUTUP. |
If this turns out to be even only half as good as it sounds, epass will be sooo screwed...
|
I love this thread.
Pretty much every angle that I could have been thinking of has been covered. Chio, I'm eagerly waiting for the launch :) |
As a security option, probably one similar to e-gold. In example if browser or IP address changes when you try to log into your account a verification pin is sent to your e-mail address on file. One it is verified bam you can log into. Considering this will be new and also if it is what it says it is going to be you are going to be a big target for fraudsters. so an option like stated above that doesn't necessarily have to turned on by default but rather an option would be good also.

hihi Chio :banana

One of the things I like about Paypal is "The Fund". I'm too broke to open up an account with one of the investment banking sites so it appeals to me. What I dislike about it is that I can't choose what stocks I want to buy. If you had some sort of brokerage service where I could invest a small amount of money in the stocks of my choice, that would be great.
|
I've had Paypal since it came out. Hooked it up to my credit card instead of a bank account so I could address fraud easier. I have a business and personal Paypal account and even though I don't use them frequently, I've been VERY pleased with Paypal.
I won some money from Epassporte over a year ago. When I looked at it, it seemed like such a PITA to set up that I didn't even bother. Perhaps the steps are easier now, but I remember something like having to charge $X on my credit card before I could even open an account? Again, my memory is bad and it could have changed, but when it's too much of a hassle to get free money, there might be a problem. Or I might be incredibly lazy ;) |

On another note, to add to the features desired, it would be really cool if you could wire out funds straight out of your account. |
