I want to drop in a string of characters, hit "CODE" and have a 5-digit randomly generated number come out.

Anyone?

You mean you want to use a string as a seed for a random number generator?

Any alphanumeric string...

"hfienrd.com/doxxer/fte" for example, and (no matter the length of the string i drop in) I get a random 5 digit number (between 00000 and 99999).

2hp, are you looking for something md5-like, which encodes it the string one-way-only, giving the same result for the same string each time, but without the possibility of getting the string back from the number? Or are you looking for true randomness?
