One teensie weensie comment, beware of background objects sprouting out of people's heads (see photo #2). It's hard to notice when you are shooting sometimes, which is of course why God created Photoshop.

What camera and lights are you using? That looks very good.

I use the Canon 10d - generally I just use one 800w softbox for lights... with maybe some background fill...
