I would be very happy to just send my mom flowers. This year was a year of many changes including a very expensive divorce where I won custody of my son. I also work for a company that has had a little problem with the FTC so we're not getting XMas bonuses, though I am grateful for my very hefty salary.

I have been able to get my 2 sons a nice XMas...but I blew my wad and only have enough left to travel to see mom. So, buying her flowers would be about all I want -- I have been able to do everything else.

Chess set is dope, although way outta my league. I make very good money (please do not quote me out of context saying im rich) but I'm still cheap. Just bought a 5$ hat for this winter, not to mention those 15$ jeans I've got on. AND we're talking canadian currency. I buy good deals on used cars (not speaking 1 year old car, more like 10 year old) to save on depreciation. And you should, too. :upsidedow I dont go outta my way to be cheap, and I spend crazy on the things I like/are worth it IMO... But everything you've got in your home, get it cheap... I buy stuff at Dollaramas (fake Listerine, bath products, etc.) and get unbranded products at the store. IE president's choice must have the same furnisher as Tropicana 'cause their orange juice tastes just alike. Don't spend when you don't need to, a dollar in your pocket now is worth 10 tomorrow; the return on investment makes every dollar exponential. Hope this can change your consuming habits bdjuf...
