Microsoft security updates & ie.7

Just installed a security update on my laptop ( the newest one ) , and my internet explorer 6 stopped working.. i think its because i already have ie7 installed ( but it wasnt the default browser ).

So if you installed ie7 to test be forwarned that when you install the update your old ie will no longer work

The bulletin on the MS site basically said IE was unsafe to use until the next patch up.

Yeh, the last update gave me a scare too. Got this popup while the updates were installing saying "Unrecognized Windows Protection Files Necessary For System Stability Have Been Installed", "Click Here To Restore The Original Files Or Cancel To Continue Installation With The Unrecognized Files."

I was like WTF? What choice should I go with? I figured putting the old files back would mess up the other new updates being installed even though the error message was saying the new ones were unrecognized. Luckily I made the correct choice even though it was the illogical one as Spock would say. LOL.

Got all the updates installed, rebooted and the system is working fine.

Recently, it seems every week IE security exploits are making it unsafe.

I'm sold on Firefox and only use IE to check site layouts. You don't have to deal with this constant IE BS, if you use Firefox.

1.5 is great by the way.
