GoDaddy is a terrible registrar

Every time again when I buy a domain from someone who uses GoDaddy there are problems - the transfer is denied, something else goes wrong, you name it... Then their horrendous interface... Whoever's still using them: abandon this misbehavior as quickly as possible, do your peers a favor and move to a decent registrar!

slapass 12-14-2005 02:42 PM

i have everything there. And yep it can be a total pain to deal with them.

Harmon 12-14-2005 02:43 PM

GoDaddy is terrible? Is this actually news to anyone here?

baddog 12-14-2005 02:44 PM

We use them, and have no problems . . . of course, once we buy a domain it stays ours.

Expo_Vids 12-14-2005 02:45 PM

I have 200 domains at BlueRazor (same as Godaddy) and never had a problem with sale/transfer. :2 cents:

GoDaddy sucks balls like no other registrar.

I detest buying domains registered there but sometimes I just deal with it and transfer them to Moniker right away.

Why do you think this?

Go daddy sucks

I regged there to have someone internally transfer a domain there.

I've been trying to move that domain out for 4 months now. really bites!

I finally gave up on all others and started my own registrar....took me like 1 hour to setup, i got a $6.95 enom account...and now I am completely in house with my own solution...if I don't like something, i instantly change it ;)

Ok, well the 1st two are of opinion, so I can't argue with what you think, but what makes a domain less safe on GD?

Furious_Male 12-14-2005 03:27 PM

I rotate domains on a near daily basis with them (buy and sell). I have yet to have a single problem the past several years.

I hope I don't jinx myself.

Amnesic 12-14-2005 03:29 PM

I never had problems with godaddy, even with password loss, transfer

yeah, i have heard true horror stories about their hosting service...most of the domain troubles I have heard are from people that did something wrong, and then bitch when they get a domain snagged from them....but yeah, their hosting service is terrible from what I hear

Gnus 12-14-2005 04:22 PM

We been with godaddy for 4 years now and never had a problem that includes transferring domains, changing dns, adding nameservers, change password, etc. Not one problem with them.

ThumbLord 12-14-2005 04:24 PM

Rhesus ............. check out directnic.com please, dealing with them since 1996 and although we have only 138 domains there, no problems at all ( knock on wood )

xmas13 12-14-2005 04:28 PM

i had a few minor problems but i was guilty.

sickkittens 12-14-2005 04:44 PM

I've never had problems w/ them. *knock on wood*

davecummings 12-14-2005 07:10 PM

669 of my 670 registered domains are with them----I like Go-Daddy:-)!!!!

JamesK2 12-14-2005 07:13 PM

Godaddy sucks... I lost a very valuable domain because of them.

Doctor Dre 12-14-2005 07:16 PM

You gotta have your own rep for it to have good CS

lakroze 12-14-2005 07:24 PM

ORLY?

:)

I'm using registerfly :) :) :)

Basic_man 12-14-2005 07:25 PM

I don't own many domains (about 15) and they are all under Godaddy.com .. and I never had any problem..

graphicspimp 12-14-2005 07:26 PM

www.domainnamesystems.com

HIGHLY recommended - been with them for 6 years and have many domains

cykoe6 12-14-2005 07:28 PM

I have never had any problem with godaddy and I have been with them for 4 years. Never a single glitch.

BIGTYMER 12-14-2005 07:31 PM

I own tons of domains and NEVER had one problem with GoDaddy.

Martin 12-14-2005 07:35 PM

Never had any problems, then again like baddog I've never sold a domain.

Marshal 12-14-2005 07:37 PM

Are you kidding? We set up new nameservers there constantly, dozens a month, and they always resolve within the hour.

azguy 12-15-2005 12:52 AM

I love Godaddy! They rock!

emthree 12-15-2005 12:55 AM

I wont deny their shittyness, but I do use them.

I second that. No probs here ever. Just don't use godaddy to purchase domains you're going to sell. :2 cents:

phonesex 12-15-2005 01:51 AM

no problems here with godaddy. You guys must be doin something wrong.

sickbeatz 12-15-2005 01:52 AM

i've had no problems with go daddy

Gunni 12-15-2005 01:53 AM

I usually wait a while after they have been registered to check them. I am sure sometimes it is a lot quicker than an hour, but just hedging the bet to be sure I am accurate. :)

jade_dragon 12-15-2005 02:00 AM

only have mainstream non adult, non business domains hosted there. No problems. Are you guys hosting adult sites there?

I've seen it in under 20 min.

fitzmulti 12-15-2005 02:21 AM

I use them for all of our domains - well over 200 - when I get new ones, they are active and even online on my server in WAY less than 24 - 48 hours. Today I bought several new ones and they were "live" in less than 6 hours on my server...

I email my rep for renewals and new purchases, and it's all SO damn simple.

Saying you have not had a problem with godaddy is like having a heart murmur and telling your friends " i havent had a heart attack YET, so i'm fine"

If you look at all the people with issues with godaddy its the same scenario. They get F'd over, and can get no support.

I've sent 22 emails to godaddy requesting some level of resolve from them and gotton NOT ONE response...

willysbirthday 'at' gmail.com if you are one of the godaddy reps here that are spending your resources trying to have clean PR rather than fixing actual issues.

DraX 12-19-2005 11:45 AM

i have only heard bad stuff about them
