Russians in the biz

How come there are so many program owners and promoters from Russia? Some of their sites are first class.

They're busy spamming most likely, or participating in vodka riots

Mister B 12-15-2005 05:51 PM

who in the biz? :D

After Shock Media 12-15-2005 05:58 PM

Ahh stop the damn Russian hate.
There are more scammers, spammers, and cheaters in North America than there is in Russia in this biz. Out of all the deals I have done over the years I have only had one bad experience with a Russian, yet somehow I have been fucked out of thousands by people in North America.

Fact is they are just an easy scape goat for many. Then people also think "oh look he speaks bad english" he must be an idiot and a cheat. Despite the fact that most of "us" only speak english and the typical bad english speaker not only learned our language some they often can speak or write several others.

Fuck all the hate and by the way just because you have a whois in russia, it does not mean that the site owner is either russian or even lives there oddly enough.

eh, maybe so.. but most russians i've dealt with in this biz are all schemers
just my :2 cents:

GTS Mark 12-15-2005 07:02 PM

Most of our chargebacks and fraud come from Russia... Don't get me wrong I am not a russian hater, but hey man when you continually time after time get fucked by them it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Under Russian law, spamming is not considered illegal, although lawmakers are working on legal projects that could protect Russian Internet users like they do in Europe and the U.S.

SilentKnight 12-15-2005 07:09 PM

In six years we've only had one russian-based affiliate, and they failed to pay up for almost a year. After a few lame excuses from them, we finally got our revenues, but we discontinued doing business with them.

s9ann0 12-15-2005 08:11 PM

russians are cool

I've never seen sites in English that are dedicated to making fake credit cards... seen a few in Russian... and I found the links at Flashcash where they have a Russian Webmaster only forum...

:2 cents:

If you are an affiliate, you have an affiliate. You and the sponsor are affiliated. See? :)

aico 12-17-2005 07:43 PM

Wasn't it also the Russians who fucked over Paypal in the beginning?

Goldmaniacs 01-02-2006 04:34 PM

There are no yankees from texas

Theo 01-02-2006 05:01 PM

when was the last time you read here about a russian scamming someone? Not saying this doesnt exist, but I can recall like 10-threads for american/european webmasters n' companies just the last few days; add to them the shitload of aff. programs that defraud you without realising it and then we talk.

Violetta 01-02-2006 05:05 PM

I know one russian webmaster, and he is a great hardworking guy!

he's got 1 point there

as far as arguments about the fact that you see no posts here between people and russian scammers, why is it that people think that the whole industry is on this board? :1orglaugh
