Enhanced Definition vs. High Definition
Just saw an ad somewhere online for an "Enhanced" Definition 32 inch plasma tv for around 1800 bucks. Whats the difference between enhanced and high def?
|
all plasmas are ED now days its BS and nothing like high def and only slightly better than standard really. If you want a plasma cheap tho you can buy that. Ive owned both types so i speak from experience..

Standard Definition (SDTV): A type of digital television producing a picture consisting of 480 interlaced-scanned lines. Enhanced definition is also referred to as 480i.
Enhanced Definition (EDTV): A type of digital television producing a picture consisting of 480 progressive-scanned lines. Enhanced definition is also referred to as 480p. High Definition (HDTV): A type of digital television producing 720 or 1080 progressive-scanned lines, or 1080 interlaced-scanned lines. High definition is also referred to as 720p, 1080i, or 1080p. http://tv.about.com/od/plasma/a/plasmaterms.htm |
ED = Progressive Scan
HD = HDTV + Progressive scan, etc. |
Quote:
yup ED is pretty much standard TV, but progressive scan instead of interlaced |
I like enhanced breasts.

too bad DVD outputs are only 720x480/720x576 for NTSC/PAL, but it still looks good for now if you have a player and TV with HDMI progressive
