Players Ball will be a late night party again - like in years past
 

Just a heads up, the doors are going to open very late again.

I wish we could open doors earlier, but since it's CES week, it's almost impossible to even get a venue.

So we'll probably open doors at 11:00 pm.

We've opened doors at 11:30 pm before and once at 12:00 am.

So for those looking to have their big fancy dinners that night, go for it, you have time to do it in style and still be early enough to watch the whole Players Ball.

It's Vegas, you stay up late, it's how it works. Even though people have biz the next day, sleep in or wake up tired, it's worth it.

I don't think most people mind late parties, we've been doing it for years now.

And we don't have a choice.

There is a topless rock and roll show earlier in that venue, that's the reason. They were going to cancel it for us, but couldn't.

Xzibit hit the stage in 2003 at 3:45 am, we still had most of the people there to see it. We hope to have George start around 1:00 am.

But don't show up at 1:00 am, you might not get in, and you'll want to see the Woody's and network with the players.

I'm planning an all nighter for this one .... it's all good playa .. :thumbsup

I don't care what time the players ball starts, that's one of the main reasons I am going to Vegas...

I don't think 99% of the people mind a late party.

The reason George will have to start so late is because they have to set up the equipment after the other show ends at 11:00 am. But they can do it behind a curtain and we'll have another remote DJ area. But figure it will be at least 2 hours to set up the sound. So 1:00 am to 1:30 am will be when P-Funk will start.

Usually people are up in someones room partying until 4:00 am or so anyway, so we'll just keep everyone under one roof until we tear the roof off the mutha sucka.

So, the good news is, I saved a ton of money on my car insurance.

We're the middle night of the show, so you might be able to stay up late enough. Usually we do these the last night and people are totally wrecked. Save your energy for the 6th.

I was thinking the same thing ... A1R3K is one of the guys i really look forward to hanging with ...and in LA i met the rest of the Rage Team and they all came off as fun guys ... i really want to party in a city like Vegas with that group ..

I have no idea when I got back to my hotel room last year... All I do know is the sun was up... When I later watched the posted videos of the night I couldn't even remember half of the shit.

my experiences from last year are that with a SPONSORED VIP pass your doors even don't open. I predict a big mess at all parties and shows.
Glad that I won't there this year.

And you might be right, all parties might have issues, no one can guarantee there won't be 100% because you depend on the venue. But it's better to have parties with messes then no parties at all.

We left the last Ball around 5AM I think, after a bouncer suggested it might be an appropriate time to make a move on out. I couldn't believe it was that late. I still had a couple hours more partying left in me and was trying to find out where the MTV2 crew were hanging out as my friend's ex boss was a producer or something with them that night. Unfortunately I was outvoted and we finally made it home about when the Sun woke up. :thumbsup

Last year I just stayed until they closed down then partied at the hotel bar until I flew my drunk ass home (flying hungover is not a fun time for future reference)

I'm bumping this again so people will get the message before coming to Vegas.

Doors will be at 11:00 pm or even 11:15 pm ish.

George Clinton and P-Funk will hit the stage around 1:00 am to 2:00 am (hopefully 1:00 am, depends on how fast they can set up his equipment).

I figured i might as well put this in this thread, and probly expect a few smart ass responses, but what the hell...

I'm a pretty small TGP/MGP runner and i do a bit of submission. I want to one day get into the paysite market when i have the startup capital to do so. I've never attended anything like this before and im not sure if i'm going to be a bit out of place? From being around the boards everyone seems like a pretty amiable bunch, but there's always the holier-than-thou assholes in every industry. Just wondering what internext and the players ball are going to be like for someone like me

you'll have a blast.

you wont have one of those holier than thou experiences. people in person are not what they are on the boards. alot of people act one way behind a nick and another in public.

everyone at the shows are cool.

i normally like to go to bed early, but this night, its redbulls for me. :)
