He is back in January. He missed this season because Comedy Central would not pay him what he was asking. So he boycotted for a year, they agreed to pay him more, hence he is back in January.

Whole story was on Daily Show, Jon Stewart actually thought about boycotting as well because Comedy Central does not pay well to show hosts.
