2257 question

was wondering what is sufficient for 2257.
If I have a copy of the models ID & a model release from the photographer, then when I make a website using this content, do I list myself as the custodian of records, or is the photographer the custodian of records?

Right now you are according to the DOJ. That's 1 of the issues the lawsuit's try to overturn.

so, I have to put my name, address & phone number on a 2257 page. thats friggen wonderful.

Just out of curiosity, how many phonecalls or letters or emails do some people usually get requesting model id?
None of the content is teen, so age of model shouldnt be in question unless someone is trying to be a prick, but I also have to make sure I do everything in compliance, so, is there a way to avoid having my personal info on a page, perhaps maybe just company name & address & email, or ????

has to be your name and the location where the records are stored during regular business hours.

I'll directly quote it from one of my sites:

Please note that the operators of this web site will only release this information to the Office of the United States Attorney General, or his designated representative, or as otherwise required by a governmental authority of competent jurisdiction pursuant to valid process, which records are available for inspection during regular office hours.
That's what is required by law. Everyone else asking for the info you can tell to fuck off.

Oh, but to answer your question. It needs to be your name or whoever is controlling the records. Can NOT be a PO box. Need to list a first name, last initial, complete snail address + email addy and times your office is open (needs to be regular business hours). I don't know too much about it all but i've taken the just of it in.

Just to add your biz hours must total at least 30 a week

I recommend using a form separate from the model release for your 2257 documentation. The government made it clear that it does NOT want to see model releases (and no other forms are supposed to be filed with the 2257 info besides model IDs - i.e., no AIM HIV/STD forms, etc).

Also, most model releases do not provide space to indicate some of the info required by 2257 (all previous names, such as maiden name, other stage names, etc).

I have never received a call or note like that. But as stated by someone else above, the only people that CAN request that info legally are the proper authorites, not just some shmo asking.

Out of curiosity, did you just become aware of this?
