You Ever Save Somebody's Life?

Christmastime is so pregnant with mortality. I find myself looking back, turning pages,

visiting the past. And forwards from there, tracing lines that illuminate the present

circumstance. Do you? And do you weary from the exercise?

There's one life I might have saved. But it's not like I leapt into the frozen river or

anything. Just a person. Near their line. Maybe pulled back. Maybe definitively. I'll

never know. My life's sure been saved a few times. I see their faces on the insides of my

eyelids, before I fall asleep. I weep. I fall asleep.


How shall i speak to you? You show interest in so many forms of speech. I blush. I am in

love. You fall asleep.

It suits me to feminize you. Strength could only be feminine. But dispassion? There, your humanity reveals a seam, a pretense is exposed, and -- evermore -- you are like a dream.

A few times I have "saved" my step-father....hard core epileptic.....

when I was 5 or 6 (he was 40 something) he had a grand maul seizure and beefcaked his front teeth on a ball hitch of a boat trailer......we had to go look for his teeth the next day....I hauled his ass home and took care of him......not a whole lot you can do......make him lie down and swallow his pills....hard to do when they are flopping and rolling their eyes back into their head....half the time combative in an unaware state....then when finally subdued....sleep for 2 days....
that happened on a multiple occasions....

You are always laughing and crying at the same time -- :)

i guess this would be the moment for a little encouragement, if there is any to be had. i am damned tired. and my english is beginning to fail.

yeah, saved a baby's life. Just a few weeks old. It had trouble breathing, like it was choking. The mother sent her b/f to my house to get me as she knew I was the eldest of 12, and figured I would know what to do.

Damn 2HP, get rid of them protocols please.

You never know when a kind word or deed saves some one's life....just keep on...

i once prevented a banning

I did, once. Not a hero, just doing my job. Pulled a man out of the water after his boat sank. I was in the Coast Guard.

Is that like a banishment?


As in banished from Paradise?
