quick question for server gurus
i've got a dedicated box that keeps failing periodically.
it's needed a manual apache restart 3 or 4 times in the last 6 weeks. i catch it each time with monitoring software (sure wish my host would catch it before i do). it has good amount of memory and is running ok otherwise. this box has key data and must not go down, it is serving mostly video files and some tgp galleries, it is not running scripts other than javascript and anti hotlinking. is this an apache tuning issue? any ideas? thanks. |
whats the load number on that badboy?

check how many servers are spawned in the first place
ps ax | grep -c httpd then check your httpd.conf see your settings. |
