A few days ago I checked my email and noticed two mysterious items were paid for with my paypal account. These items totaled $2,000 ($1,400 of which was withdrew from my bank via e-check) Someone had logged into my account and made these payments to a foreign unverified account.

I immediately call paypal and inform them. Customer Support lady tells me there?s nothing she can do but file a dispute claim. I tell her I want an immediate resolution, and she says ?I?m sorry; it could take up to 2 weeks.? Luckily it only took about 24 hours. They rejected my claim stating that there wasn?t enough evidence to support it. I call them and they give me some more bullshit, and I ask to talk to a supervisor. He tells me he will file another dispute claim. About 5 hours later, I get an e-mail saying my paypal account has been shut down. I call them yet again and ask why. They said, they investigated my account and on December of 2004 I made a payment to an e-mail that was linked to an adult site (must not have been at the time, because I am not a fucking idiot). I lost my temper and flipped out. I was hung up on shortly after.

They refuse to talk to me when I call and mention my former account name, so I?m out 2 grand.

I lost my paypal account for reporting an incident that took place because of their lack in security. Go figure.

I will NEVER use paypal again.

File a dispute with your bank.

I guess you would be jumping for joy if you filed a claim and they turned it around on you. I flipped out after being told my account would not be opened again under any circumstances a few times.

had my account closed because I complained that I was being billed every month for something that I didn't want. I didn't use it much so i didn't notice. So hundreds of dollars taken out of my account illegally and I lost the few hundred in gift certificates that I had in there that I was saving for christmas...Bah humbug paypal:(

no, you idiot, his problem is that someone faggot stole 2,000 dollars from him and paypal ended up punishing him for something else. his reaction was a normal human reaction and probably well deserved.

All the online payment solutions suck, they are all great untill any problems arise...
if ANY issue arises all of them will shut down your account and tell you to go fuck yourself...

Seems as though I hear more negative horror stories about Paypal these days than good ones. Sucks that they nailed you for $2k.

If you're located in the U.S. - try sending them a hardcopy snailmail with all the details of what happened and carbon copy it to the Federal Trade Commission:

Make sure you show that you've carboned it to FTC on the copy you send to Paypal so they're aware of it. If they realize you've taken the time to alert the FTC...it may prompt them to look further in to your account and hopefully make more effort to resolve the issue.

i dont have any problems with them either, but judging by the amount of these kind of threads im not gonna totally rely on them.. theyre hypocrite fucks and can shut down anyone for absurd reasons.

paypal does suck, what does everyone use to make an adult transaction? lets say a DVD or some kind of goods? I have lost about 8 or 9 paypal accounts and I just give up on them.

Sadly there are few if any good alternatives :( And before someone jumps in - for most stuff Epass ISN'T a usable alternative.

What i don't get, is why the us gov haven't investigated thoses fuckers more then that.
