ya it's x-mas, the spammers are taking a break from spamming and giving people the chance to check their mail without frustration

Actually my guess is that it,s the best time of the year to spam, ppl are buying gifts all over

You're very wrong on that point. Mainstream gift traffic dies on xmas eve as even the dumbest realise it's too late to buy online. Take it from someone who has a LOT of mainstream gift type traffic.

Actually, I haven't gotten a stupid "p diddy has a ro|ex, you should have one too" in a while... it is refreshing. I wonder who tossed them out? They haven't been on SI for a while.
