Mini notebook, which one should I get?

Preferably, the screen should be 10" or less. I must be able to plug in a monitor, a keyboard, usb devices, modem, etc.

Why even get a laptop, get a Mac Mini, the thing is tiny.

12.1" is bid too big, I need something smaller and lighter.

PatrickM 12-28-2005 01:05 PM

Sony's Vaio TX series but they have a 11 inch display though.

I was playing around with one of those a year ago over at CEBIT and it was cool toy

the smallest one is less than 9 inches, so there have to be a plenty under 10

andrej_NDC 12-28-2005 01:38 PM

try JVC MP-XV 941 or some Sony Vaio, both under 9 inches and with all PC functions...even DVD burners :)

The only problem with something so small, is if you need something done to it, repair wise, it usually takes 3 times as long.

Yup that could be a problem. I would then have to carry around my big heavy notebook until the mini-notebook is fixed I guess.

Sony, I was actually going to buy one, but then thought about it and since I dont move as often with it, I got a normal laptop.

I think I may end up getting sony even tho it's twice as expensive JVC since there no stores near my house that carry JVC sub-computers. :Oh crap

Quotealex 12-28-2005 04:29 PM

Besides Sony and JVC, what mini-noteboooks to you recommend?

I just picked up an old laptop from like 1997. Can't do much on it, but it's really small.

Does anyone know if it's as easy to upgrade these as old desktops? Like just adding a new mobo and processor to it.

I need at least a 15GB drive and good colour monitors. In 1997, the drive were less than 5 GB I think!

I've seen them at every computer store I went to and did try them. I found them a bit to big for my need.

They look nice but they're too big. I could find any smaller notebook on Dell site!
